Classic saturn problem - cart slot

Post by captain ahar »

i've got a jp white saturn, and recently i tried to boot up dezaemon to continue on my project, but my cart wasn't being read.

is their anyway to test the slot, short of buying another ram cart?
I have no sig whatsoever.

Never used any 3rd party carts in it I'd imagine? To make sure you've gotten the cart as close to the connectors as possible, don't push the cart all the way in but rather slightly above where you feel the most friction (this trick is also applicable to SS that have had their connectors widened over time by all 3rd party carts).

Anyway, there are other ways to test the cartridge slot. You can use either a 1MB, 4MB, or ROM cart and see if the respective games that require them play or not (also, a SegaNet cart will show whether the slot is detecting anything).

sometimes I get problems too despite having always used original cartridges

my trick is to push down the cartridge to the end and then pull it towards you slightly, as it leaned towards the front par tof the console.

I believe all that wiggling and tampering is just making things worse.

My Saturn reads the cart about 95% of the time. Mind you I don't use it that much either and my Saturn is quite new.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
