ESPGaluda (Arcade and Arrange)
I was aiming for 50mil+ but several sections of the game drove me nuts and I stopped playing because of them. The bit before the stage 4 boss (those four flying bombers that appear before the large round... thing), all the turrets on stage 5-1, and Jakou's last three energy bars.
Cave games frustrate me so >_<# Especially this one, because it's so good, and so irritating at the same time.
EDIT: A quick question. How does TAC manage to quickly cancel Tateha's Shot into Laser in Kakusei mode? Several times I've seen him fire a single set of bullets before cutting into Laser, and try as I might, I just cannot do it, and always end up firing a full burst before the Laser activates.

That's a sick score Icarus. Congrats!
Question to MMM (or anyone) about Arrange. I think I've figured out the secret, but want to make sure. Do you get more gems by having more enemies on screen at once? I used to think it had to do w/ the multiplier, but after watching a replay, that seems to not be the case.

So Espgaluda's Arrange Mode systems function similar to Esprade's, with regards to the multiplier affecting the amount of gems created. Interesting. That explains why all the high level replays I've seen have the player using the secondary attack a lot to sustain the multiplier.MrMonkeyMan wrote:It has to do with the multiplier. Just watch one of those full run videos Arika had at the end of the first stage. He gets a full 16x on the final large tank and then kills all the remaining enemies for a massive amount of gems.

Yeah, and killing small enemies in Kakusei mode is almost a waste. The bigger enemies are easier to get the x64 multiplier, which multiplies each ingot x 64 x what it was already multiplied by (hence, the sick scores).
Just for shits and giggles, and that there's a seperate table
Gaijin Punch 33,263,100 ALL Tateha

If I've undertood what you are talking about, it's all about the C button. He touch one time C and then press A!Icarus wrote: EDIT: A quick question. Tried that. When you touch C then press and hold A, you fire a single Shot, then a full burst of Shot, then Laser. I've even tried pressing C and A simultaneously, with the same results.LUNardei wrote:If I've undertood what you are talking about, it's all about the C button. He touch one time C and then press A!
The best way to explain what happens is this: imagine that tapping A fires a burst of five Shots, while tapping C fires just one Shot. Somehow, TAC is able to fire one or two Shots before switching immediately into Laser, minimising the damage done.
It's really baffling, as it looks like a good technique to use for Tateha. The only problem being that there must be some kind of button combination that does it. I hope that there isn't some kind of quirky extra button setup a-la Mushi that achieves this -_-;;
Oh, understood. No ideas, sorry...Icarus wrote: The best way to explain what happens is this: imagine that tapping A fires a burst of five Shots, while tapping C fires just one Shot. Somehow, TAC is able to fire one or two Shots before switching immediately into Laser, minimising the damage done.
An extra button that reproduces the effect of 'A pressed' is a good theory, but I think it would be written in Arcadia. No?
Dunno. Arcadia have a habit of not putting in all the information in their articles (to make players look for the juicier tricks and tactics). If there was some kind of button combination specific to Tateha to recreate this little quirk, then it's probably something that only a handful of Japanese players actually know. Either that, or it's documented on some Japanese capture site or 2ch, and we just haven't found it yet -_-;;LUNardei wrote:Oh, understood. No ideas, sorry...

I've been button-juggling all day with no success in recreating this little trick, so I'll just stick to using my existing strategies. On a related note, I managed to pass 11mil after beating the second stage boss for the first time today, and I'm getting very consistent on stage 1, averaging 950 Gold and 3.5mil after beating Seseri. Getting a good start is definitely important for good overall scoring.
I'm so out of practice though, really sucking hard on stages 4 and 5-1 >_<#

Yes -- getting over 3 mil and 800 gold helps out the score. 42 mil w/ Tateha is fantastic, even with clearing. She requires extra precision that I just don't have. Capture some vids if you can!
Oh, yeah. Since I broke my stick somehow, and won't fix it (working on a new one which won't be ready for a week or so) I'll post this score. Definitely not my full potential, but an improvement.

EDIT: If you can pinpoint an exact location on the replay that TAC does what you're talking about, I can better describe it. There's more than a few shooting BBS's where people might know... and of course, 2ch.

You're right about her needing a lot more precision. Part of what makes Tateha so difficult is her attacks in Kakusei Mode. With Ageha, you only require his Shot for pinpoint attacks, and Laser for power attacks against large enemies. With Tateha it's the other way round, and that's what makes her so frustrating sometimes.GaijinPunch wrote:Yes -- getting over 3 mil and 800 gold helps out the score. 42 mil w/ Tateha is fantastic, even with clearing. I wouldn't have it any other way though. I still prefer Tateha for her regular Shot style (wide and fixed) and her speed. And because she's cute ^_-
I'll be popping up some replays once I actually return to some form of consistency throughout the game.
Better yet, here's a five second clip from the DVD replay demonstrating exactly what I'm taking about. I can't believe you guys get scores like this. I am so damned terrible at this game. Alot of it stems from me not quite understanding the scoring; like what makes your little meter go down when you are in 'pink bullet' mode. And what the point of the pink-bullet mode is once you run out of the meter.GaijinPunch wrote: Gaijin Punch 197,164,576 5-1 Black

There is an ST for Galuda a few pages back in the Strategy forum, but a lot of it needs to be organized/updated/verified...anyone up for the challenge?landshark wrote:Alot of it stems from me not quite understanding the scoring; like what makes your little meter go down when you are in 'pink bullet' mode. And also, muwa ha haaa! The Tatty Revolution is gaining strength!
I was thinking of putting up a small Kakusei Mode-centric ST, as I've noticed a lot of weird quirks and things happen with the Kakusei Mode during my time with the game. The ST thread that's currently up is pretty detailed as it is, but not organised, and I don't think I have much time to sort it out at present.BulletMagnet wrote:There is an ST for Galuda a few pages back in the Strategy forum, but a lot of it needs to be organized/updated/verified...anyone up for the challenge?

And I wouldn't call it a revolution. There's not enough dedicated Tateha players to call it a revolution.
(I think I'm the only serious Tateha player around here ~_~;; )
Speaking of which, I had a pretty awful credit just now. No missed to the stage 4 boss, and lost two lives in quick succession, then fumbled the rest of the way up to Jakou's second-to-last bar. Had 31mil at the stage 4 boss before the first death, and ended uncleared with 41.2mil -_-;;
Could have been so much better. >_<#

Yeah, I know about that. That cancels the Shot part of the attack completely and goes straight into Laser, but it is only effective if you need to use Laser immediately after activating Kakusei Mode. (demonstration clip from the DVD here, stage 3, XVID - 612KB)GaijinPunch wrote:Icarus:
Have you tried holding the Kakusei-button down after you go into Kakusei mode, then holding down A? Just a hunch... I'm sure you've tried already, but figured I'd ask anyway.
The method I'm trying to work out is how to cancel the Shot quickly into Laser, as there are many sections in the game where it is required. The video clip I posted shows TAC using this trick several seconds after activating Kakusei. (if you haven't seen it, vidlip from the DVD, stage 1, XVID - 664KB)
The more I think about this trick, the more my head hurts >_<#
