Actually, I wouldn't hold my breath for a CGE 2008.
I'm aiming to go, although I actually haven't gotten a hotel room or plane tickets yet. My friend was supposed to be joining me, but she had to drop out due to monetary problems...which is decidedly less fun.

CGE was pretty badass. I picked up some fine games while there, including:
Bomber Raid, SMS
Ninja Golf, Planet Smashers, Ikari Warriors, and Midnight Mutants, for 7800
Lasercade, Frogger 2, Planet Patrol, Firefly for 2600
Pepper 2 and Burgertime for Colecovision
Diner and Beauty and the Beast for Intellivision
a Vectrex with Star Trek and the multicart
Shadow Squadron for 32X
Aero Blasters for TG-16
a sega CD memory card
Heiankyo Alien handheld from japan
Got to meet some classic programmers, hang out with some buddies, and meet some new people. CGE guys aren't sure if they'll be able to do another one next year, but they're hoping and shooting for Vegas again.
