hey guys, im making a joystick for my supergun using a neo geo pinout and a sanwa joystick. i can get the buttons to work fine, but i cant for the life of me get the joystick to work.
heres the neo pin-out im using
1-gnd
2-button 5
3-coin
4-button 4
5-button 2
6-right
7-down
8- +5 volts
9-right trigger
10-button 6
11- start
12- button 3
13- button 1
14- left
15- up
and im using the sanwa wires:
orange-gnd
black down
yellow right
red left
green up
i've gone over the wiring several times, and cant find a problem, but i can only get down, and down-right to work. when i move down-left, both up and down register!
if anyone can help, i'd greatly appreciate it, i've been working on this stick for weeks now! i just want to play a game!!!!
sanwa wiring help
Wire color is meaningless unless you know what each pin on the stick goes to, in whatever orientation (it changes depending which direction you're facing the stick).
JLF pinout here (read from left to right pins):
pins horizontal >> facing right
1- Ground
2- Right
3- Left
4- Up
5- Down
pins vertical >> facing up
1- Ground
2- Down
3- Up
4- Right
5- Left
If that's not it, next thing to check is your DB-15. Make sure the solder joints are good and nothing touching (pins 14 and 15 especially, sounds like).
