Ps2 soft reset question

Can you do a soft reset via the controller like a Dreamcast or Saturn on a Ps2.

No such feature for the system itself exists, but merely in some games. Even then the soft reset option can vary from St+Sl+L1+R1 to St+L1+L2+R1+R2 in another game.

That was such a clever thing. I believe it is also "healthy" for the console/ disc drive...

And you could also access the memory manager all the time, withtout having to do these horrible things of resetting the console with the disc tray open and shit...
