Gunbird - Europe
Gunbird - Europe
It seems that on Friday the PS2 Gunbird pack will be released in Europe, might be interesting to people who don't/can't import.

My copy shipped as well. I won't be getting it until Tuesday thanks to the holidays, though.

Picked up a copy yesterday.
Its spot on, they run in 60HZ and they all have TATE
Another quality conversion from Xplosive, shame that the Midas strikers versions was so poor.
The only downer is that the loading is noticable on Gunbird 2, compared to teh Dreamcast version, and there is slowdown on the PS2 one (2 player TATE) which Ive never experienced on teh DC one. However these are really quite minor niggles for such a bargin price.

Okay, I got it. it's well, nice, I'd say. You can select 60hz at the beginning, and also center the screen better.
Each game comes with sound test, random stages on/off and three screen ratio: ultra small yoko (hard for eyes), expanded fat yoko (horrible), and tate (recommended). No "wobble" yoko.
You can customize controls but there's no possibility to reverse controls for playing in tateyoko mode.
Backgrounds show some flickers when playing yoko, especially Gunbird. Loading times are bearable.
The major gripe I'll hear from this package is that there is no memory card support at all. The games still have their high score tables, but you can't save them or the settings. This is a shame, since I remember Psyvariar CE offered lots of customization and even saved replays... I don't know to what extent this reflects the japanese releases, though.
Ah, of course it's cd-rom media.

I didn't get my copy yet, but that's a bit of a downer. The JPN version saved high-scores and all the other settings. It's not that big a deal, writing scores down is easy if you want to keep them, but it's still rather silly to leave memory card support out.
