Man, that's w/ fucking up twice on stage 3, and once on stage 4. I was kicking ass on Stage 5, and ran into a freakin little guy I forgot to shoot.

Shit! This sucks, one of the guys at my work still has my PCB because he is using it to make a template for custom cases/protectors for PGM based PCBs and he is taking his sweet time.

doesnt move me up, but gives me some breathing room:

lost a life early in stage 3, otherwise pretty much my best run for me through 3, no other lives or bombs used. 13.9 or so though 1, ~30 at 2, and ~50 by the end of 3. even a pretty good showing for stage 4. should be able to et 85 soon if i keep playing...or maybe take another break from the game like i did before this. either way, just need to beat some people down.

I beat the game but it still says 1-5 because of the loops. I had no lives left. I went into the boss like this and thought about bombing but refused. I can say that I went through this run without bombs and over 120 million. Of course there is that part about not dying.

Sorry I forgot to take a picture, I just turned my cabinet off too ~_~.

I don't really think you need evidence from Valgar. He's scored over 34 million points in Ikaruga, one of only about 1-2 dozen players in the world to have accomplished that feat (and the first non-Japanese, iirc). He's not going to lie about his scores.

i'm well aware of Valgar's scores in other games and am honored to have him participating in this High score list along with all of us (which is getting quite a bit of input, thank you all!). i'm not saying i want photos because i don't trust him. submitting photos for excessively high scores is a common practice around here and isn't too much to ask IMO.

and btw valgar, is there any chance you could post a replay vid once you clear the first loop? i'm sure we'd all love to see that by one of our own.

I died at the first boss, ran out of bombs (lol).

I don't know how you want to label the loops, but this was the TSUUJOU (normal) loop, the other is URA. Not sure if there is a difference shown on the score ranking when you get there.

edit: Oh about videoz. Well I have to sell some goods first, but it was my plan to get a RGB Capture Card. Maybe in a couple weeks.

TSUUJOU Loop.

I cleared 1-4 with No Miss/No Bomb but Stage 5 is a beast, where I probably lost 4 lives. I got it all down, I just need to string it together....It might help if the music didn't bug out on the best runs ~_~.

My 2-1 score was pathetic but the 1st boss dies like butter because you are already FULL power. It is hard to score because your multiplier is not replenished from 5 boxes.

Here is the end of level bonus, thanks to IKD and GaijinPunch.

Total Multiplier x ( remaining ships x 500 + remaining bombs x 50 )

Valgar- isn't there a way to save your high scores on your PCB?
Your previous high scores aren't in the most recent screen shot.
I think I read you have to turn on high score saving in the bios menu or something?

Nope, you can't save high scores. Mushihime was the first for CAVE. Usually MoBos will have a battery to save multiple game scores.

Kiel: You've got plenty of time to catch me. I'm on to Guwange for a bit. As with most people, I have troubles stringing Stage 1-4 (most problems on 3) together, much less Stage 5 which rips me a new asshole.

Problem parts:
- Big ass B-1 bomber. I can kill him, but then I'm in awful position for the rest of the crap
- Mid boss (just need practice)
- Right after mid boss... the frames start dropping, and I die
- When the screen starts scrolling down (I know the pattern, but always die by one stray bullet
- The two parts after that when shit just comes flying at you
- The part where the other Panzer Jager's come out at you. I can kill the first two, but can't get the 3rd, then the 4th comes out, then everything else shoots at me, and I must bomb.

In short -- I really suck ass at stage 5.

If I had had full lives it would have been over 200M after the first loop clear.

Now to start learning the second loop...
