I am also a big fan of this one (in fact all of capcoms sprite based icons are pretty neat.) A close second for me goes to the smiling compile guy from Zanac, Guardian Legend, etc.

gotta be the "skull hornets" image that appears when you select a character in 1 player mode, and also at the end of each level and during high scores list.

I really dig the design of the gold bars in Mars Matrix. The way they rotate is very sexy, and super appealing, which is probably why I die so much trying to collect as many as I can. 8)

Also, the shield-looking medals in the medal volcanos in Giga Wing 2 are nice. Every time I activate a medal volcano I get so excited.

Hell yeah man the Yashichi is omnipresent

Also the PoW that shows up as many Capcom titles as the Yashichi did

What's the most recent game the Yashichi has shown up in? I know Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has the PoW during Son Son's super move

Probably the powerup pod in Gradius or the Yashichi or Miclus, they're all awesome in their own way.

It also appears as a main menu highlight icon in Street Fighter:CE for Genesis, Along with one of the enemy's from Side Arms and another shmup related sprite I don't reconize.

I think it's cool how it's an enemy in a few games.

Agreed, they really make you become greedy. I like them much more than the gold in Gigawing.

I also agree on the "Disco Maennli" (this is what they are called on World-Of-Arcades, sounds very Swiss to me) in Feveron. They have the same effect on me like the gold in MM - becoming greedy and hungry for more. They both create the "catching a lot of one stuff while dodging a lot of other stuff" that gives those games such an addicting gameplay.

Yeah and their damn vicious in Vulgus and Exed Eyes. Kinda odd how they turned them into a powerup.

In Strider2 for PS1 you get it as a powerup also, along with the cow from Gunsmoke Sonson the Side arms sprite as well as a few other obscure Capcom refrences.

Oh and theirs a reference to Gunsmoke in RE4. Man I could talk about capcom Easter Eggs and insperations all day. :P But I'll stop now.
