wondering if anyone knows anything about [topic].
in particular, the song that is used for stage 0 in Saturn mode on the home port.
although, i would be interested in hearing any and all the tracks.
please note i am not looking for mp3's per se, merely information on where i might find a cd or whatnot.

Best thing you can do is to put the kanji for Dodonpachi into Google and do a sift. You might get lucky and hit someone's website with some remixes on it.captain ahar wrote:not really, i'll be a bit more clear.
a soundtrack performance of DDP, but with real instruments, not the synthesized sound from the PCB.
Here's the kanji: 怒首領蜂

Some concessions and/or tradeoffs made for DDP PCB's BGMs?
So were some concessions and tradeoffs made to fit all the BGM tunes on the real Dodonpachi arcade Jamma PCB then?
What's the real story behind the "poor quality" BGM tunes on the DDP PCB itself?
And could of Cave gone with a true stereo output version of DDP PCB? (Sure would've been better than the mono-output DDP Jamma PCB version that currently exists today -- would've increased cost of production of said DDP PCBs though if endowed with stereo outputs).
(You might recall that some Konami produced arcade PCBs with stereo output option like: Ajax/Typhoon, Gyruss, Lifeforce PCBs back in the mid-1980's...why not with Cave produced arcade PCBs in stereo? -- Arcadia would be wise to ask this particular question to Cave...the technology is there today for such a better sounding stereo output arcade PCB...) ^_~
(And could it have been improved better -- i.e. - better sound sampling and bit rates than what currently existed {for BGM tune sampling} back in 1996? -- this is pertaining to the DDP PCB, of course...)
I recall that the Japanese PSX CD-Rom disc version of DDP is all 'Red Book Audio' format for play-back of DDP's BGM tunes on a regular Music CD player...trying doing that with a real DDP PCB -- you can't do it! ^_~

I don't know if this is painfully obvious, but you are looking for the 'arranged' soundtrack, that's when it is performed on real instruments.. maybe it will help you searching
EDIT: Common lingo for soundtracks... (could be wrong, is from an old EGM)
OST or OSV - Exactly the same as the game
Arranged - Based on or inspired by music from the game, but necessarily exactly the same
Symphonic or Orchestral - Game music performed by real instruments
What he is looking for could be the Arraged or Symphonic I supposed. Sometimes the type of soundtrack is in the title of the CD, so I thought it might aide him searching (in google or yahoo japan/ebay).
Again I might be wrong, just trying to help
