Quick thinking and a hate of numbers made me think of the Yahoo name "literalgameboy" and it was used as a name at some places. I eventually shortened it.

I just needed an easy to remember forum name some years ago, as I realised it was no god going by your real name on internet so I snatched this from some brothel in Osaka (not that I've ever ben to Osaka). Basically it's two japanese words smacked together; baka - stupid and ichi - one. I guess it means something like the number one stupid which I think is a good name for me because I would like to be the number one in something, be special, although I think it's stupid, besides it really is easy to remember.

Ozymandias is a really cool poem by Percy Shelley, and I changed the 's' to a 'z' because there were already a bunch of Ozymandias' on the internet. Then I discovered another Ozymandiaz so I needed a number. 1260 comes from Revelation 11:3 "And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth."

What can I say? This topic called for the easily obvious.

Graphics in that video look filtered. Is it some OpenGL/D3D port of ROTT or just Youtube's crappy quality?

Youtube blurring/filtering, actually. Hitting the original video size button shows the original unfiltered graphics, and everything looks as it should.

Waaaaay back on the NES, playing the Wizardry series, you could only use four characters per party member name. RAND was my hero, ZANE his rival / buddy, LYRA the love interest white mage, and ZAX was the wizard. Since Zax was too short and too common an internet nick, I merged it with Maximillian. Presto! A nick I can use just about everywhere. Only once have I failed to get it.

Njiska was the name of the cat I had a a child. The name originally came from a misspelling of another cat's name in a book I had as a child. Since then I've chosen to use it as it's so unique.

It's pronounced Nish-ka.

Mis-spelling of the game Power Stone. Didn't realize this until a year after using this name

I don't know of I'd call that his most famous, what with The Call of Cthulhu and The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but that certainly was a good story and the closest he ever got to a novel.

I use this screenname for anything video game related. It's better than going by the name "Shitbox Threeshitty" in reference to what a crappy console the 360 is. It's also part of the old meme "MOVE IT, XBLOX!" 8)

Skykid is from the Namco game of the same name, but at the time I'd never even played it and just lifted it from the bonnet of one of the Ridge Racer cars.

Mine came from one of my reroll become main caracter on WoW :

Initially my main was an Orc Hunt called Algork : Al is the diminutive of my first name (Alban) that I used as NDS player. Gork refer to GorkaMorka the beliefs of Orcs in Warhammer 40k universe (Gork is strong, Mork is smart .... for an Orc).

When I created a Palatank alt I naturally called him Palgork (the Paladin of Algork).

Later, my Palatank became my main caracter so I used his name as my username ...

Finally, the fact I sign PAL for my score on STGs doesn't have any link with the European Video Standard, it's only the diminutive of Palgork :D

When I was still a young child learning to use the internet, I really loved playing with those Super Soaker waterguns. So it was my first username.

I still roll with it just for fun.

When I started to deejay in front of actual people (outside the bedroom) I had to come up with a DJ name. One of my favourite tracks as the time was "Emphasis" by Resistance D. I looked it up in a dictionary, and right under it was emphatic. I thought it sounded really cool, so I've been using it ever since (circa 1994), everywhere.

Welp, this goes back to my first times surfing the internet, when I was 13 years old. On that time I played a lot RTS, specially Rise of Nations, so I had to decide a nick for my gamespy account. Since I loved Dutch history (and I still do) and my favorite civ to play was the Dutch I thought of a way to make my real name sound "dutch"

And that's the way the nick I've used allways in the Internet was born: Oskar Van Bruce. I ussually make it shorter like how I use it here.

Easy, mine refers to an arcade mentality. I've loved arcades since a small lad and it doesn't matter which modern console I play it just doesn't seem to match the an arcade feel! Hence 'Cade mentality!
