Joystick cord replacement

My beloved XE-1 PRO joystick isn't working properly. If I play a game the joystick works fine, but if I slightly move the joystick's cable/cord the buttons no longer work. There must be some kind of cut wire inside the cord thats to blame.

I don't want to give up this joystick, it's definitely the best I've ever used on my MSX. I'm not knowledgeable in this sort of thing. So I'm asking if some could do me a favor and make me a new joystick cable?

What the cable needs...
- Atari standard DB9.
- Cable: Black color, 9-wires, 5 ft long
- some white connector at the end of cord (see image below)
- MSX pinout - http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/msx.htm
