Unlike S1999, autofire doesn't help the damage of your normal shot.

Twiddle - kusoteam - 515,100 - 1-5 - Quaid (MAME)

To find the coinheads, play a little game with the aerial popcorn enemy formations: "Which one does not belong?"

This doesn't work in the sky stage, sadly.

(no im not tellin u where dat one is)

Also I swear some of these fuckers lead

I know it's rude to post scores by the minute but a 50+k increase in psikyo games is no joke

Gem heads:

(sorry - I don't have any screenshots)

Water stage: When the green elongated popcorn enemies start swarming down the screen vertically (just before the 2 big purple mushroom midbosses), you'll see one that swims down the extreme right side of the screen, dragon shoot him.

Air: The 3rd purple bat thing in the beginning on the left side, dragon shoot him.

Sand: Shortly after the first 2 vehicles have past, you'll see a horizontal row of popcorn enemies fly down the right side of the screen followed closely by a nother one lined up with the middle popcorn enemy. Dragon shoot him.

Flower level: Can't remember without playing. It is similar in style to the sand one I think.

Level 5/6/7 - I have no idea. This would greatly help my score if I new.

I know this sounds crazy but I find that I play Dragon Blaze better if I warm up with "shoot the bullet". Some of the patterns are earily similar.

howmuchkeeefe - Team Old Schoolers - 512,300 - Stage 4 - Quaid (MAME)

Doing a much better job of not dying with bombs in stock. Like 66% of the time a lot of the time.

I was hoping for an extend at 500K :(

An entend at 1-5? Now I have two things to find on that stage (extend + money head). New score...

No, I meant that I forgot the game had an extend period at that point. It's at 600k.

I'm thinking maybe I can make it to 600K+ before the week ends. Today I'm having all kinds of problems, sweaty hands leading to slippery control pad, confusing the dragonshoot button with the bomb button, loosing sight of my character in all the bullet spam...

Landshark - Super Buffet S.T. - 908,600 - 1-6 - Quaid (MAME)

1-5 with no losses and 3 bombs. Used 1, then died - anger=2.
1-6 with 2 extra guys. Lost 2 guys with full bomb stashes - anger = 10.
1-6 got the gemhead, whoa! anger=3.
1-6 strafed into the fucking lanes you go through to get past the boss arm-sweeps - anger=9.

turned off machine.

3 lives to 1-6. The game is trying to tell me something.

Tonight was my first time playing the game. I always meant to pick up the ps2 port, but never got around to it. Too many shmups to play!

I'm still in the process of learning the controls and experimenting with the different characters. I think if Sonia's dragon callback speed wasn't so painfully slow, she'd be my favourite character to use. But as things are, I think I'll stick with Ian or Quaid.

Great game. I wonder why I haven't given it any attention so far.

The Auto Fire delay of 5 was supossed to become an overall rule (to stay on the safe side).

But I guess on Dragon Blaze you can also use regular auto fire. So feel free to switch auto fire "on" on the ports or using other auto fire devices. :)

My goal is to not get dead last... and I'm just barely doing it.

GaijinPunch - FEKA USA - 313,800 - 1-4 - Rob (MAME)

That's day one... hopefully there will be a two.

No worries, I will be dead last.

Downloaded a superplay movie and saw how to use the dragon charge. No I can barely make it to 1-2 lol This new found attack for me has changed everything. Before this I could easily get to 1-3.

guess im taking more risk now

I can get much higher than this, had a cruddy play throughout, dying with 2+ bomb stock each time.
Finished stage6 with a lower 930k, though I normally have that before the two eyes midboss. -_-;;

Five of six TBs (missed the stage6 TB), all coin chests up to the end of the credit. Ended at the laser cubes.

Not necessarily. Depending on how well you score, you can get your Extend much earlier. I normally get my Extend halfway through stage4.

I'm not sure if there are any other emulators out there that support DB. Are you not able to play it on PS2? Anyone care to help Rando out with emulation?
