Softlanding Gameplay Video

Post by yokaze »

Hey guys.

Our game is coming along quite nicely. I think I mentioned it a while ago.. kind of a side-scrolling manic shooter. I've made a little video of the progress. It's still a bit rough around the edges, so I don't know how many of you will be interested but I'd really like feedback on the way it's looking so far.

Here's a link to a 30 second clip:

Also a guy was nice enough to want to interview us.. :D

Any comments would be awesome. Cheers!

Looking very nice indeed.

(I moved the thread to the Development section)
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

VERY nice. The sprites and the backgrounds fit nicely together. Your bullet engine looks promising. My only concern is that the enemies need too many bullets to die, too many of them escape. You just can't kill all of them. I think most people here would prefer more aggressive enemies but that require less hits.

I hope the sound will be as good as the rest.

@fl0w: Thanks a lot for the comment! The current level script is very much just a test. We're still sorting out the nitty gritties of the engine so at the moment most of what you see is just that. Needless to say we'll be spending a lot of time on things like balance and pacing too. :)
