Yeah. ESPGaluda 2 can drag on. It's not like stage 6 is easy either. MUshi's stage 5 is pretty painfully long too though.
The thing thing about ESPGaluda II is that you can almost always rework your patterns for better score, but it's always harder for me to relearn something.

Legend just sent out a new price list. It's gone to $948 for a full kit+poster.Gwyrgyn Blood wrote:Alright, thanks for the run down guys. Hopefully I'll get to pick this up fairly soon, although I'm probably going to have to wait for another price drop first.
I still need it go down quite a bit further

Actually around 6 months ago.GaijinPunch wrote:ESPGaluda 2 floored at about $600 about a year ago I would say.
Futari will probably bottom out at $700 or $600 like Galuda 2, probably around Sept/Oct 2007. I'd bet that Cave made a large amount of Futari boards, just like they did with Galuda 2. Since they know they won't port the game, they make more PCBs and sell the surplus at a large discount to turn a nice profit off the consumer around the time a port would have come out. It's a smart business strategy, and probably gives them more money than a port with far less work involved.

i love it when you guys put your spin doctor hats on. "...they probably made too many of them". nice way of saying "it flopped a bit".
they must have made way too many ibara boards...
and isn't it AMI who distribute and sell the boards as opposed to Cave, on the premise that AMI take the financial risks/rewards...?
seriously though, this game seems quite popular. i suppose it depends if you're bothered about "full kit" stuff or not.

Just got my OST today, nice packaging. Artbook is very nice, I like the stage end illustrations and the poster artwork. Got some more useless keyrings now. Soundtrack is so much nicer in high quality without explosions and Reko screaming.
Funniest thing is the boss music is called "Beastly Throbbing"... guess it means something different to the Japanese. ^_^;;

Any possibility of seeing Mushihime Futari and Espgaluda 2 seeing the light of day on the Playstation2? Sorry if this was already discussed here, but I don't really want to search through 34 pages of conversation.

Finally an official Mushihime-sama Futari superplay DVD will be released!
See message 5 on this site:
http://www.kobayan.jp/
It will be available for sale from Sept 25, at Cave's shop (apparently you can preorder from Sept 23-24). I hope Play-asia will get some of these like they did with the Galuda 2 dvd. I really want this DVD, can't wait to see some WR runs!
It will also come with an artbook. Price is 7,500 yen.
Also, if you go to buy it, they will have a special version of Mushi Futari for play, which you won't be able to play anywhere else.

Normal Reco Ultra WR is by SWY, as zlk mentioned. It's about 2.7 billion (ALL CLEAR), iirc. Was done months ago. The WR with Abnormal Palm (and the top score in this mode overall) is by Dame K.K. and it's about 2.9 billion, I believe. Also an all-clear on defaults, and it's more recent (but still at least a few months ago). I think one other guy may have cleared it on defaults, but it may just be these two.
EDIT: By the way, this should be another 3 DVD set, one DVD for each mode. Hopefully they will have both a Reco and a Palm run for each mode on each disc, for a total of 6 replays.

The book will have 100 pages, 60 of which will be in full color. It will also be on sale via Cave's online shop as well.
There will be a shop there like last time. Shop will run from 11:00 19:00 on 09.23, and 10:00 - 17:00 on Saturday. Games will run a bit longer. As for the "game you can't play anywhere else" there will apparently be an announcement on Cave's shopping page.

The event at Hey will feature a game "you can't play anywhere else". As they're selling the Futari DVD, you can be sure they'll have at least one of their special version of Futari there (if not a new one).PsikyoPshumpPshooterP wrote: what does this part mean?

Figure it'll be something weird like Mushihime-sama Ver 1.5 (No Maniac Mode, Accelerated bullet speeds and more insane scoring)?GaijinPunch wrote:The event at Hey will feature a game "you can't play anywhere else". Good God. Those are some fucking incredible scores. Way, way higher than I thought was even possible, especially the Ultra mode scores!GaijinPunch wrote: Six replays in all:

Does the page confirm which version of the character they were using (I'm assuming that all the Palm players were using Abnormal shot)?GaijinPunch wrote:Reco:

The Reco scores are all Normal, while the Palm scores are Normal in Original and Maniac modes, but Abnormal in Ultra mode.Kiken wrote:Does the page confirm which version of the character they were using (I'm assuming that all the Palm players were using Abnormal shot)?GaijinPunch wrote:Reco:

That isn't confirmed, but I'd pretty much bet my house on it. Abnormal Palm sucks ass for scoring in Original and Maniac modes.

Yeah, doesn't say normal or abnormal. EOJ would know better than me. It does say at the bottom that "these are the scores as of August" so maybe they're still doing runs to improve? I don't know what type of head time they need to give the DVD production company.

I doubt they could improve much on those scores, they're really pushing the threshold of the "theoretical maximum" scores for each mode. I love how TAC's Maniac score is so close to the top default (no rapid fire) Mushi score which was on the "Secret Lover" DVD. It really shows that they designed both Maniac modes with similar (default) score maximums. I honestly never thought you could get a billion in Maniac mode in Futari 1.5, but there you go. Can't wait to see it!!!GaijinPunch wrote: It does say at the bottom that "these are the scores as of August" so maybe they're still doing runs to improve? If SWY did a no-miss in Ultra mode, I'll pee my pants.
