If anyone hasn't seen it I recommend Student Bodies for some brainless 80's slasher fun. It's a Naked Gun esque take on the horror genre.

A fictional story about going to kill off terrorists who invaded India back in 2008. Good action, and a decent story and such. They sure went around the world to kill the crap out of the bad guys. Got a little preachy towards the end, but still the action made up for it. Decent enough movie from India.

Took me back to simpler times, and WAY better tunes. Jesus what the fuck happened to hip hop? A genre created by Roland and the Technis 1200... destroyed by over production. Movie was well put together. I'm sure parts were truncated and creative liberties taken, but Ice Cube's son did a great job portraying him.

Saw Suicide Squad this weekend...and hated it. The wife was excited about it so I went along, but turns out she didn't like it either. By the end of the movie we both were just looking at each other in disbelief. The crowd even booed at a couple of Killer Croc's one liners. I really can't fathom how such a big company could waste that much money on a piece of garbage like this...then again there I was spending my money on a ticket. Lesson learned

I heard they reshot and cut out a shit-load of scenes. I read an interview with Jared Leto, and he seemed very pissed. Considering how much time and effort he put into his role both on and off the set, he has every right to be.

It also has what is probably the most racist murder ever in a movie.

Loved Suicide Squad. Got dragged into it, but very glad I did, big step up from most of the trash that's been released in the past couple years.

The best way I can describe it is that it's a 90s action flick. Would fit right in on a shelf full of Nicolas Cage and Steven Seagal movies. It's a dumb movie that's not trying to be smart, which I'm extremely thankful for after years of dumb movies tripping over their own pretensions. They establish a basic plot with a handful of interesting conflicts and don't feel obligated to include any convoluted nonsense to accidentally contradict or any preachy bullshit to accidentally contradict. It's mostly very obvious how things will play out, but everything is executed well.

Harley Quinn and Deadshot are the stars and most of the screentime revolves around them; they're both fabulous so it works out. Against all my expectations Jared Leto was amazing as the Joker. So much better than Heat Legend. Where Heat Legend basically played a generic evil dude who spent most of his time pandering to Fight Club fans and once in a blue moon would tell half of a joke and forget entirely about the concept of comedic delivery, Leto actually does a pretty solid job of embodying the unpleasant harmony of light-hearted comedy and careless brutality that makes the Joker fun to watch. A couple of Nicholson's Joker scenes managed a similar feat, but Leto does it consistently. I also think it was a wise choice to limit his screentime in this one because even with what they gave him he steals the show a little bit.

Also unlike every recent Marvel movie, Suicide Squad fits itself into a larger movie universe without being heavy-handed or stupid, has a sequel hook that doesn't just resort to hastily inventing a new villain right before the credits, and they seem to have learned the most important lesson from Batman v Superman: give Batffleck more screentime, pretend SuperCavill and Lex Eisenberg never existed.

Anyone who wants to actually watch the animated adaptation of The Killing Joke needs to skip to the 28 minute mark, because that's where it starts. Everything before then is strange and slightly embarrassing.

Batman fucking Batgirl on a rooftop. A cliche gay random talking dating with Batgirl. Batgirl wanting adventure and cock simultaneously. What the fuck?

The scripting is really bad and some of the delivery is very flat. Batgirl's entire purpose here is meant to A: make the feature feature length (which it almost just falls short of anyway) and B: make the events in The Killing Joke more meaningful. In-fact, they would probably have been more meaningful if they hadn't prefixed the story with this soap opera balls and a fair amount of poor CGI backgrounds.

At one point Batman bellows "He's objectified you!" to Batgirl, regarding her prospective criminal admirer, which just sounds completely wrong. Batman wouldn't say "He's objectified you", he'd keep it much more simple and straightforward. Within five minutes however, Batgirl's tits, ass and crotch get a good camera panning while jogging through the park, ensuring we all have an opportunity to objectify her too.

Thankfully when The Killing Joke actually starts the improvement is vast. Mark Hamill's Joker is superb and everything benefits immediately from Alan Moore's scripting. It could have been even darker with even more bite, but they did reasonable justice to the source material, which in all honesty is a pretty slight short story. 45 minutes would have been enough.

You can watch the first 28 minutes, but if you don't it's probably better all round.

Well I guess it's a good animated Batman movie, but compared to the comic it's just trash. I know that they need to change the design to fit the animation better, but one of the things that makes the comic so good and scary is it's art.

Alan Moore has always refused to allow his name to be added to any adaptation of his work because he considers all of it to be gutter trash, which is mostly accurate. He also refuses to watch a single one.

I kind of wish he'd give Watchmen a glance though, as - while not perfect - it's probably the most justice his work will ever get on the big screen.

You're right about the art style in TKJ. I don't know why they need to pare it back to conventional styling all the time - they have the means to render it very similarly to the book, and did so in select few scenes here and there just to prove it.

Ultimately they're always trying to draw the kid crowd simultaneously. Almost nothing is made purely for adults anymore, which is exactly what the original KJ was.

Ended up watching this off Netflix when were bored on Sunday. In a vacuum it isn't a bad movie as long as you don't think too hard about it, because if you do start thinking too much about it it really starts to fall apart. The resemblance to the source material is also fairly superficial, and to be honest I don't care much for the source material on this one either. Can't say I blame Alan Moore for not caring for this one.

From what I've heard this is supposed to be one of the better comic book movies out there, but it still felt a little too much like they expected people to know the source material going in (to the point that Hellboy comics actually exist in-universe, much to the chagrin of the title character) and it mostly came off a bit confusing as a result of this. Most of the action sequences also felt a little weak. In spite of that it was still reasonably entertaining, but I probably wouldn't watch it again. I've heard some people say the second one is better though.

V for Vendetta is an atrocious movie adaptation and a pretty poor movie full stop. I had my head in my hands at points.
