correct, it doesn't it show up. i think you're linking the URL out of an e-mail, or something? which would mean that you have it cached and would be seeing it perfectly fine in the thread, but nobody else could see it.

unfortunately, the gomola speed, which was SEALED, is a junk hucard. i cannot get it to work. the silicon cases around hucards are known to get sticky, but this one was like, super stuck on there. i've tried cleaning it and doing the tape thing, but i don't think it's the contacts failing to be read that's the problem, it's a more internal problem. it keeps booting to this weird yellow screen with dots on it, sometimes looking slightly different than other times. if any of you all have a suggestion on what i could do to fix it, please inform me, but i think it's trash.

damn, that's really frustrating :( ah, well, i only paid like twenty for it

Damn, that sucks :(

was that game sold as "used" (AKA in working condition), or "as is"? If it was listed as "used" then I'm pretty sure you can send it back for a refund! It's worth trying at least, you got nothing to loose

it was sold NEW. it was a sealed item. i have no idea what happened: my best guess is that it got left somewhere hot and the silicone leaked some chemicals that got into the card and made the information unreadable.

i went ahead and ordered a replacement - returning this to japan (especially since i bought it through a proxy service) would be a nightmare that cost more than it's worth. someone was selling a kunio dodgeball game with a loose gomola speed on ebay for $30, and since i've got a pristine case and manual, i wanted to best offer at him at $15. talked him down to $20, which isn't a terrible price to pay for the both of those at all, even though i feel kind of entitled to a free replacement of gomola speed, it sure isn't this guy on ebay's problem :P

Yes this seems like the most plausible scenario to me

Eh, not too bad a deal! Loose hu-card goes into the brand new case, et voilà!

And also, lol at the last bit

^^ thanks!

other stuff i've won that should be on the way, soon:

soldier blaide, saigo no nindo, download, schbibinman 2, ane-san, gate of thunder, valis I's remake, valis II, III, IV (all 4 were in a real cheap bundle), paranoia.

got a couple sfc carts coming, too. contra spirits and great battle v.

still bidding on a few things that might make it to the next shipment on top of these. i feel like after this next shipment, i will have a fully fledged, respectable pce collection. small, but mostly well curated and with some of the most noteworthy titles out of the way

My Cd copy of the new GAS album Narkopop. Vinyl has an extra track, but a friend is getting me that ripped when his copy arrives. 17 years is a little too long for good music like this!

I used the hard drive case for the 500GB PS4 hard drive since it now supports external hard drives (I initially switched the internal hard drive with a 2GB hard drive).

Nice! How is it? I want to get a vinyl copy but $80 is pretty steep. I just got Box, released last year, and am taking my time to digest, (still only up to the second album).

The albums drive my wife crazy. I told her to picture a forrest rave. She them said is sounds like 'zombie music', lol. My only response was, 'it's German.' Oh well. I guess we'll have to try Basic Channel next ;)

Quite the PCE haul there, kitten. I was cracking up at the infamous PCE Hu-Card of Download with it's novel use of swearing (especially what's shown on the "Game Over" screens). The opening intro has that unmistakable Blade Runner-ish vibe going on -- quite impressive for a dedicated Hu-Card shmup presentation alone. I'd recommend picking up a Turbo Everdrive flash cart just to be able try out both JPN & USA regions of Magical Chase -- well worth it in the end without breaking a dent in your wallet (or purse for that matter). And by picking up an Arcade Card Duo or Arcade Card Pro + a copy of Hudson Soft's Arcade CD-Rom2 shmup Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire = priceless!

A few people who have heard the album in full (Cd only at this point as vinyl takes forever to ship out) have pretty much the same opinion I have. Good album save for the 3rd track. Wonderfull ambient that has such an abrupt change to dark ambient and back which is too jarring for me. I really enjoy it and there's a lot of good sounds. He mixes in the synths quite well with the orchestral stuff.

cool, thx! Surprised to hear that it's not all dark, the teaser track announcing the new album sounded ominous (in the best possible way).

Does it work now? I did move them to public folder. However, dropbox is about to eliminate the public folder, I think their reasoning was that you can share photos from any folder now on. Obviously this does not seem the case.

I actually got the Turbo everdrive, from your recommendation, and when I received it I was stunned to learn that it had all the Hucards installed there already! There are so many titles there that I am curious to hear any other recommendations you might have?

Funny how Rondo was my first "expensive" retro game pickup in late 2002. I initially bought my PC Engine exclusively for that game (but damn I've come to love it since).
Just shows my luck how the game has for some reason managed to retain around the same price point ever since, while NES and SNES games (which were all dirt cheap back then) have now reached a point where the asking price for Rondo would almost be considered cheap.
