They did make scoring more difficult in one of the updates (the quickshot multiplier decays faster), but the TLB requirements and stuff are all the same. I've only played version 1.20 and 1.21 though. Updating the game to 1.21, which I believe only adds support for Chinese text, also wiped out my save file (ie. all of my local scores were deleted). My friend Sturmvogel Prime claimed that he got all his weapons fully powered up, but he didn't reach Divine Rampart. He ended up on the C route. I thought you could fight Divine Rampart on any difficulty or rank as long as you had your weapons fully maxed, right?

That same thing also happened to me on my first playthrough (US version). I maxed out all weapons because I knew that was the TLB condition, but I was on the C route and I did not get the TLB. I have not retested it since, since I haven't ended up on that route again.

Let me guess, this is a first time, then, isn't it? It's weird because I saw someone playing the game for the first time yet he ended up on the A route and reached Divine Rampart.

The rank of Stage 8 must be on A or S to fight the final boss.

If you reach Stage 8-B or Stage 8-C, the final boss won't appear even you play from Stage 1 and fully power up all 3 weapons.

And clear Stage 8-A with TLB, you will get the A Ending; clear Stage 8-S with TLB, you will get the S ending.

Disc arrived... gonna need that converter for my arcade stick because the xbone d-pad isn't great for shmups. While the 360 one is imprecise, this one is responsive just uncomfortable and it's quite distracting.

Given it a go with each ship and tried out a couple of weapons. Not too fond of the system that basically says "only use one weapon, or level equally the ones you want". I was doing okay on my second credit until I accidentally collected a different colour power up and was stuck with a peashooter! Ships do seem a bit "too fast, too slow, just right", I honestly thought the slower ship would suit me but it seemed hopelessly inadequate for collecting medals - and maybe I picked the wrong weapon with the default wide shot, but it was just doing naff all damage.

Dialogue is hilariously awful The main guy sounds like he's doing a George Takei impression.

The soundtrack for this game doesn't sit well with me. Orchestral, super-dramatic soundtracks just doesn't seem like Raiden's style. So far the only track I really dig is "Unknown Pollution" (stage 1 theme).

Yeah, as much as I like some of the music, it sounds like it belongs in Darius, Gradius V, Radiant Silvergun, or Ikaruga.

mang you guys. The OST isn't that bad D: not after IV was essentially a bunch of remixes. It's like, "We get it, II is legendary"! Plus it's been over 10 years since Gradius V and Ikaruga. There's at least 3 songs on V that I've listened to multiple times~

Doesn't change that the orchestral style doesn't really suit me. Raiden IV may have been arrange central, but I still liked its style.

Does anyone have credible info on the paths? I haven't made it to a single C stage yet. I have everything else cleared but 8A. Do I just have to suck to get to C? Kill less enemies? Die a lot? Score?

Edit: I just let it autopilot through the game and got a bad ending after stage 6c. Interesting. Guess you can't completely bomb to get to 7c and 8c.
