Looks good! I remember being fairly amazed at how much better it looked, the composite video output on the genesis is pretty awful so making the jump to RGB is huge.

What monitor do you use here in the RGB-less zone?

It looks like there is a bit of sunfade at the top right corner of Tempo but that's just my iphone camera... Also, Tempo was not in as good condition as the ebay auction made it out to be but it's still good enough. Really happy to own Knuckles Chaotix again, I used to own a CIB copy of the PAL version and I recall playing it quite frequently. I know that a lot of people are not very fond of it but I think it's awesome.

Playstation RGB cable came. Not taking another picture.

It's just becoming more and more clear that what I said was indeed the dumbest fucking thing Skykid ever saw posted in public.

Forgot to mention that I bought the parts for my first computer build on my 17th birthday last Sunday.

Framerates in games have improved by like 50 frames.
And my new soundcard is better than my old (like, despite being dedicated, it still had interference).

First I found The Sky Crawlers animated film immediately off-putting, then I was under impression that PAL Wii game wouldn't do 60 Hz (turns out it does after all). So here it is, apparently quite sought after at this point. I must say the GameCube pad controls in Expert mode sport truly wretched buttons layout (yaw mapped onto d-pad, no less, while the left stick controls pitch and roll) - I'm jolly sure this was not so asinine in Rogue Squadron II played with the very same controller, in advanced controls mode as well. And no, the GameCube pad controls here can't seem to be re-mapped to fit one's personal preferences.

I've yet to see how it handles with a CCP - here's hoping Project Aces made a proper use of its four trigger buttons.

I don't recall Rogue Squadron had different control setups, it functioned similar to X-Wing/TIE Fighter where the Y axis is pitch and the X axis is a turn like movement - or roll if you hold a button down. Was there even yaw control? Sky Crawlers "normal" is similar only I don't think you can control roll

While it would have made more sense to map rudder control onto the C-stick or L/R for Sky Crawlers, it's not horrific on the D-pad. I didn't find I used it for much, just lining things up from relative safety, so it didn't have much impact. X for roll and Y for pitch gives you enough control for the main dogfighting, the simplified manoeuvres and "special move" mean you don't really need to have rudder control for the combat. It is a little disappointing you can't remap it to be more useful but it's an arcadey game anyway so I don't think it suffers much.

Classic Controller is fixed too with, you guessed it, yaw mapped onto the D-pad.

Yes there was (speaking of II anyway), if not in the default mode (needs to be enabled in options, just like in Ace Combat 2). Ever since Sky Odyssey, I expect to be allowed to do this kind of thing with a controller's trigger buttons (whatever Rogue Squadron II used, it worked for me too).
While I believe that vertical rudder controls can be largely ignored here, I don't wanna ignore these in my flight games (of the arcade variety, the aforementioned Sky Odyssey and Crimson Skies PC game benefit immensely from the manual yaw control). For the same reason after Sky Odyssey - I feel there's no turning back to Pilotwings for me.

Few recent additions:

Quite happy to have found this. Not many Capcom superplay LD's out there, and this one has three late 80s classics on one disc :)

Image

Missed this one back in the day as it never had a PAL release. Good fun, it's no SoR2, but I like it.

This one's pretty good fun too... ;)

A month or two ago I picked up the hardware for House Mannequin, a very unusual Mahjong game from Nichibutsu that puts LCD screens in the control panels to allow vs Mahjong. Just wrote it all up:

Are you sure he's using it to shave his face?
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Not at all. Aren't those used for shaving off dust from PCB's?
