Damn. Hate to say "Told ya so," but I don't want to sound too much like a dick. It's not good for anyone. It sucks.

Anyone here who's ever had their heart crushed by the usually ignorant Japanese game companies saw this coming from a mile away. Did you guys really believe that you had a chance. Heck, do you even believe that you have a shot in the dark of it getting a US release? I don't care what the say in the mailmag, I call BS on that.

Now get out of here and trade your US 360s for Japanese ones, you rascals. 8)
obviously g-rev is oblivious to the staggering 30% import sales of their games and is ignorant of foreign demand

They'll soon realise when the first weeks sales are charted.

There really was no point region locking this, I guess it just goes to show how ignorant Microsoft are of the market as well.

If it really was under G-Rev's control, it wouldn't be region locked.

Agreed. If G-Rev just had to simply give the thumbs up there's no reason they wouldn't. They were well aware of their overseas interest in the game even during it's earliest stages of development.

Yeah, I hope this can be a wake-up call to them. I'll be crossing my fingers (but not holding my breath) for that. :?

Is it just me or does RevX look much worse than the original screenshots that were shown back when the game was first announced? The game still looks awesome, but on closer inspecion I believe it looks more like a Naomi game now where it looked like a 360 game initially.

Original Screenshot:

The character models looked amazing in the first shots, now they look all jaggy.

I think it's mostly because the old screenshots are smaller and downsampled, and the new ones let you see all the jaggies and such

It's clearly looking much worse now; no different than NAOMI.

I really don't understand why G.Rev wouldn't have released this game on the Dreamcast, given the poor Japanese support for the 360-everything else that they've done so far has been released on the DC.

Yeah, but I'm sure they also know that shmups aren't as popular over here as they are in Japan. I'd also be willing to bet that more people in Japan own a Dreamcast then a 360.

Look, anyone who wants the most shmups on current or next-gen hardware either needs to have said hardware modded or buy the Japanese version. Unless the PS3 really does turn out to be region-free, that's simply the way the cookie crumbles, as they say.

It's a guarantee that more people in Japan own a Dreamcast than a 360. In fact, there are almost definitely more Dreamcasts currently in active use in Japan than there are 360s.

It does seem strange that they chose to release this on the 360, unless they plan on releasing it in North America. Even if the market for shmups is small over here, they would probably still sell more copies than in Japan simply because there are so many more 360s around.

Does anyone know of any webpages with Faqs or strategies for Senko no Ronde aside from basic move-lists?

I too am hoping that this game somehow manages to get a PS2 or DC release, but I think we all know thats not going to happen with microsoft publishing it.

There is a chance that Senko no Ronde might get a Japanese PS2 release by the end of it's lifespan, but I'm sure you can count on a PS3 release of a Senko no Ronde title if not.

Not to mention that Maruyama (of G-Rev) stated that he'd rather work on a new project instead of working on another homeport.

So who's in the confirmed list of people from this forum that have a Japanese 360 and have preordered this game?

1. ResOGlas
2. PsikyoPshumpPshooterP
3. gameoverDude

Anybody else? Let's exchange XboxLive gamertags.

I'd love to play that thing, but I don't have a Japanese 360 =( Someone posted that there were some arcades in California with it. Does anyone remember which arcades were on that list?

Famitsu score.

Senko No Ronde Rev.X (Xbox 360, Sega): 7 / 9 / 8 / 8 - (32/40)
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

It used to be at Arcade-Infinity in the City of Industry, but not anymore. Only arcade that has it that I know of now is my living room. 8)
