Not sure myself! When I first saw the game, it was already in a very stable, playable beta state.

Please convince Qute there is money to be made on Steam and I will double dip for both their games. *.*

Qute's busy with Natsuki Chronicle right now, and I suspect they have a more binding deal with Microsoft Japan.

If you have a Xbox 360, Shooting Love 200x (Which contains Trizeal along with Exzeal and the shmup skill test) very recently got a localized downloadable release in North America for $20 :)

That's the problem. I don't own a X360 and I'm not planning to pick one up. I had a JP X360 for one week before I sold it back in 2009. The console layout and stuff didn't do it for me.

This is your problem at this point then. Degica won't port the game on PC because you can't get over the Xbox 360's "layout and stuff".

Trizeal is also on Dreamcast and PS2. You're not exactly short on options.

Bought this on Xbox 360. Supposedly there is a manual available:
The Games on Demand version supports English, Japanese. Download the manual for this game by locating the game on http://marketplace.xbox.com and selecting “See Game Manual".
I locate the on the marketplace, but can't find any manual ? Anyone been able to find it ?

Yeah I wanted to take a look at the manual out of curiosity as well, but I couldn't find it.

If it's not there on left-hand side for those who own it you may have to contact Triangle Service directly for it. Looking at this page suggests there may not be one for it. :/

There's no English manual. They must have decided it wasn't worth the time, money or effort to translate it.

kane wrote:I know this has been asked a few times before, but I still don't see a response. Are we eventually going to get a non-Steam, drm-free download option? Would be a shame to pass up on this game.
I think making a DRM-free version is feasible from a development standpoint, the problem is finding an economically viable storefront that would be interested in it. GOG is the major DRM-free storefront for PC games, but they are much more selective about what they sell compared to Steam. It would be quite difficult to get XII ZEAL on there because it's less of an exception compared to Crimzon Clover. Thinking about it now though, it may be possible to offer a DRM-free version of the game on Humble Store. I'll look into this.

@Pretas - Yeah, we could translate in the manual, but in my experience, very few people actually *read* Steam manuals, even if we offer them. I'd rather invest the time in stuff that more people will find useful/worthwhile.

Has Triangle Service given you approval to release their games on DRM-free platforms? I suspect this is why Treasure has not sold Ikaruga PC anywhere else than Steam.

By the way, why is this Polish Euroshmup being featured on T-S's blog? Are they doing some partnership to release the game on the Japanese Steam store? I see a mention of CAVE in the post as well.

As far as I can tell, Mr. Fujino is just talking about Sky Force in that article. He's a big fan of it and feels like it's a really well designed PC shmup. As far as I know we don't have any involvement with publishing it.

The real question is how the game performed vs. expectations. Figures (accurate or not) don't mean much without that context.

The margin of error is greater than 100%, ergo source is completely unreliable!

The game has been ported to PS2 and more recently 360, so it's not going to be a must buy for many. I wouldn't be surprised if sales are low.

Yeah, the numbers seem to change daily (going up and down) so it's not very reliable. But I did not see a better source yet.

Only Publishers (and Developers) can give official numbers, but they rarely do.

Sales could be better ^_^;. If you want to help, the best thing you can do is spread the word. I can encourage people to look at the game, but ultimately I'm just one person with limited influence. Gamers as a whole have a much larger influence on the success of games, because positive word of mouth helps to increase awareness. For indie games like this, basically just getting people aware that the project exists is the biggest hurdle.

As I said, I'm not buying it until you release DeltaZeal on Steam to complete the 10th Anniversary set. Why didn't you just straight-up port the 360 collection, with both games bundled together in the same program? Any yokel could have told you that splitting them up would be a dumbass decision, and it's not as if DeltaZeal was ever sold separately to begin with. Sure, I can acknowledge that sales of these games will be low no matter what you do, but they would at least be BETTER.

Was this all Degica's fault, or did the directive to dole out individual games to the Steam gaijins for as long as they keep selling (read: never, if they're not bundled) come from Triangle Service themselves? I'm inclined to assume the former.

I didn't buy the Steam XII Zeal port because I own it for 360 and just don't enjoy the game...

Best believe I talk the ear off anyone who will listen about Crimzon Clover, however. All praises due.

Have you considered the idea that maybe the PC port of deltazeal isn't ready yet, or hasn't even begun development?

Maybe G-NET based games like XII-stag are much easier to port to other platforms compared to porting deltazeal from the shitty, poorly cobbled together proprietary PCB it used.

Or, consider this:

Xii Stag has seen a limited windows 95 demo, a windows mobile phone port, and a PS2 port before the 360 port. This is compared to deltazeal/G-Stream, which only had a port to the 360. You could make the argument that this had to do with the fact that G-Stream G2020 was not owned by Triangle Service when it came out, but even assuming that's what prevented ports of G-Stream from being made, the fact that Triangle Service had ported xii-stag a few times already (Mostly to Windows platforms!) probably means that it was easier to make a modern PC port of xii-zeal first since Triangle Service already had prior experience making ports for it.

Hey folks! Just wanted to let you know that we've updated XIIZEAL to V1.03. Some really good stuff in this update, including the ability to view replays on the leaderboards!

Patch notes below:

XIIZEAL V1.02 and 1.03 - 07/03/2015

Fixes

- Fixed an error that caused replays to display incorrectly when multiple shot buttons were used.

New Features

- The game now displays a notification that your game will be ineligible for saved replays and score submission if you continue.
- Expanded leaderboards to record submitted scores on all difficulty settings.
- Replays can now be saved on any difficulty setting.
- Replays can now be uploaded to the leaderboards and viewed by other players!

Cool stuff! :D

I played it once today and got 7th place in the leaderboards with a replay file attached. C'mon guys, we need to get more people onto this for the competitive scene so I can see your replays!
