Looks fantastic.
The patterns in the second part of the video remind me of XOP Black for some reason. Lots of small, similar-looking bullets in little broken patterns. Not to mention it seems the scoring system is about collecting those metallic things.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Such an awesome intro song, even better than the one for DSII :)
Wtf is this idiot talking about, I absolutely hate Cave's stupid singing promotional soundtracks, they totally kill the vibe of the game. The DSII one was like torture in the queue for the AOU test version. :?

Finally they've got the covers the right way around (some marketing genius there) the LE one looks good this time. The DS2 LE cover art is one of the most appalling commercial illustrations I've ever seen come out of Japan (hang your head Inoue.)

I don't really care for either cover to be honest. hope these are just mocks and they change them for the final product like they did with DS2. I think the LE is suppose to be a DOJ tribute which is kind of cool. In the end they're just covers so who cares.

So. Fucking. Pumped.

Not sure if I'll like the laser canceling, and I think the robot maidens look dumb, but shit. I'm so glad they went back to colorful graphics rather than that dingy DOJ look. This game looks fucking rad.

I hope one of the arrange modes is good though, because Futari and ESPIIs arranges are crap IMO.

(Give me a Mars Matrix mode, you fuckers)

I'm really getting sick of Cave's cheesy english lyric crooning tunes.

+1

They should have dropped the BL ST stage four at the beginning of the vid instead. That would have given it some much required gravitas.

beforehand they never even had proper image songs, and they still have "techno and beats" (in before someone says "I'm really getting sick of Cave's techno and beats"

It's getting a bit off topic, but... (goes back to listen one more time just to be sure.)

...Yeah, it's really absolute trash - but I admit you shouldn't judge people for having awful taste in music.

While on the topic of Dodonpachi DFK and music, does anybody prefer the BL OST to the original? It's growing on me (at least when trying to imagine playing the game with those themes) and bar a couple of tracks (main boss themes and stage 5) I think it's better all round - I like the darker edge.

I definitely prefer the BL OST. Hearing arranged versions of vanilla OST (by somebody other than Namiki) would also be nice. Namiki has written himself out.

Yeah, at first I didn't know what to make of it, but through continued listening I can imagine it's going to be a lot more driving in-game than the vanilla OST, which is shamefully weak in places. I especially like the beats on the stage 1 track (Vertex), and the others are growing on me. I'm actually especially pumped for the BL DLC just to play against this soundtrack to see how it changes the experience.

Namiki all burned out is a sad thought (though you may be right), but wasn't the vanilla soundtrack composed by several different guys?
