Got a response back from Murasame.

"At the moment, the Japanese PSN store is excluded because it's not in the contract."
"I don't understand the details concerning the European store."

I can confirm that it's coming to the European PSN though.
I don't know if it's a simultaneous release compared to the US one, but it should be.

I haven't played any of these games but they look interesting.
Does Hitogata Happa have a Tate mode?

No it doesn't, but it doesn't really need one either.

BTW I've played every Platine Dispositif game, and well, the ones I do sorta like are Zangyura (aka Maid Samba) and Space Dynagon. Hitogata Happa might be good if, like most gamers, you don't care at all about balance. Have to give some kudos for trying to make a game built around buying extra lives, none for its implementation though. Bunny Must Die: I'm not a fan of the genre to begin with, but doujin/indie metroidvanias are a dime a dozen, and you can probably do better.

Why do people keep posting this misinformation?

Hitogata Happa most certainly does have a tate mode; it's one of the very few doujin vertical shooters that does.

I'd like to find some of these dime-a-dozen Metroidvanias that are better than Bunny Must Die. ;)
Pretty much. Chelsea and the Seven Devils / BMD is probably Murasame's most detailed work.

Part of the tate misinformation may stem from the way I've spoken about the PSN release...
Well, that and the way people just assume things in general.
The PC version most certainly does have 'tate, and it IS still there in the US version.
As for PSN, well...

How am I going to rotate a 32" HDTV. Nah, it's cool, I don't mind.

I hope your Japanese-speaking employee is keeping Murasame up to date, he doesn't seem to know anything about the European release. Kinda something I'd like to know of if my games were being released there.

Ok, after some little confidence gained experimenting with Steam store I finally decided to get the games.

Sara (or anyone else in Rockin' Android) please bear with me because in this country electronic transferences aren't too common (everyone wants their seal on a paper and written signatures) and people are overly paranoid. In fact, we got a call from the bank just in case and all that stuff always makes me kind of nervous.

Anyway, I purchased the game so, hopefully, there should be an order from down here, Argentina. On the recipe it told me the address isn't confirmed or something like that but that's the right address. Just letting you know.

Do you mail or something to inform about the shipping? Argh, the nerves.

I don't believe we generally send any kind of confirmation.
Just stay calm, seriously. Everything will be fine.
It may take a good while for the game to get you.
But it WILL get to you, just keep calm, okay?

Ok, ok :P

It's just that "Paranoid Mode (c)" is quite common here and my friends don't help either... Whispering me about the stupid neighbours I have, reminding me that one time where one of them almost threw away a package for me (no kidding).

Well, I'll put them on alert next week or a bit later. I don't mind the waiting really. Will make things better once it gets there and I sit to battle my way for glory, heh.

I wish PSN would update already. Sitting here with my review codes just makes me antsy. Any one have a break down of the scoring systems to keep me preoccupied while i wait?

I got my copy last week for the PC. I'm definitely enjoying it. I wish the pocket for the instruction manual wasn't so tight so that the two cool poster cards would fit in there easier.

I had to setup joy2key to get my junky hori ex2 working. Kind of a hassle, but works nevertheless.

I'm really lazy about transferring my RAP EX-SE around from 360 to PC since I don't think I can get too serious about the games themselves but its always nice to play something new.

I just checked the PSN store, and things seem to be up.
There are also 4 themes available, and wallpapers. (Free!)

I thought it was gonna be on PSN for 3 and PSP. Is it PS3 only?

It's PS3-only. We never said it was going to be available on PSP, people just rumored it due to ESRB.
It was rated for PSP because it is Remote Play-enabled.

Just started my downloads on these. Guess PSN is slow today with all the E3 stuff.

Which one of the three should I play first?

Any would do I guess. But, I think Hitogata Happa is the most imposing in terms of barrages and such but the doll system might take a bit to get used to and at the opening stage you have to apply some crazy tactics.

Just wanted to say that since the PSN versions are out, I can answer almost any questions you guys still have about them.
For instance, like I implied earlier, no, Hitogata Happa does NOT have tate on PS3, although it does on PC.

When are they coming to the JP and European stores?
Do you have any plans to release their other games (Chelsea and the Seven Devils, Space Dynagon, etc)?

Um, that's all I can think of right now.

Also, just so you're aware, the free theme has broken icons.

I think the European store is supposed to get the games at the same time.
I don't know for sure, honestly. The European store hasn't updated yet, though, has it?
The games HAVE been localized into the European languages and a European release WILL happen.
That much is certain one way or the other, regardless of when they end up coming out.

As you are aware, a Japanese PSN release is not in the contract.
If I had to guess, it's probably not going to happen, but you never know.
Elixir wrote:Do you have any plans to release their other games (Chelsea and the Seven Devils, Space Dynagon, etc)?
As for this second question, it isn't really related to the PSN Gundemonium versions...
I tend to basically be told to keep information to a minimum when it comes to things we haven't said.
We have Bunny Must Die licensed as far as I'm aware, but I think that's all I can really say about it for now.
We do have a deal with Platine Dispositif so it's a good bet you'll see more of theirs from us.
Elixir wrote:Also, just so you're aware, the free theme has broken icons.
Hm? What's up, exactly? (Also, all four of the themes are free.)
Edit: Checked all of the themes, didn't see anything wrong...

Why was tate taken out for PSN? It seems silly to remove a feature that was already there..

I can't answer that, but I will say that it wasn't our choice, as shown by its presence in the English PC ver.

They look pretty jagged and inverted. Is this normal? All of the themes do this. They look fine otherwise.

Yeah. We did the best we could, but it's our first time doing this stuff, after all.
The themes kind of took a back seat to the more important stuff.
All of the icons were done manually by our graphics guy, and he's not that good at pixel art, or so he says.
Personally I think the result is quite nice, considering, even though it could be smoother.
Well, I guess we'll get better at this stuff as time goes on.

I just tried the 3 games, and my favorite was Hitogata Happa.
Gundemonium Recollection is the sequel to GundeadliGne or am I wrong?

When playing HH I could not get past the 1st boss because dying once there means Game Over, even if I have full life stock. :? Hahaha
Such a tricky thing so early in the game. I guess I should keep trying to see how to win it, but it's too late already and I should be asleep by now.

Anyway, nice work and great addition to the starving PSN library. I'm surely gonna enjoy these. :)

That's right. Hitogata Happa is a distant, vaguely-related prequel to them, too.

Only if time runs out! Use your bomb attack to take out the boss's arms, then go for the kill.

These are actually really good ports. I like that they're made for PSN, so there's no lag to worry about, unlike PS1 games. The fact that I can just plug in a USB Saturn pad and play is a huge bonus, and it even works with adapters. It was a shame that I had to ebay some US points just to get the games, but it's not a big deal.

Hitoga's still my favourite game. I just need to remember how to take out the last boss and I'll have Easy cleared, so I think I'll focus on that for now, as I've done it for PC already.
