Satisfication is the kind of minor retardation that will get you banned from shmups.ac, son.
Icy himself makes this point when he says that in a game review the writing itself is of no importance -- all that matters is the expertise and the thought of the writer.
Are you really that clueless? He shapes everything on his site to his awkward standard of quality writing, to the point of him yelling about all of that hard (unnecessary) work. A lot of pain for something "of no importance". Look for more contradictions. It's a satisficating game.

This thread was totally worth it for a link to that icy vs. recap throwdown. I knew that affair couldn't last.

It's not beyond the realm of reason to expect a narcissistic sociopath to go to the trouble of going to a library, friend, and relative's house to register his puppets. In fact I'm pretty sure it's mandatory.

Urgh, this thread's done. Is it time to call each other retards and idiots and fling poop at each other now?

Battle Bakraid Unlimited on ez nooob beginner mode is the first shoot'em aparts I've 1cc'ed.

Unless you count Forgotten Worlds on the Genesis.

Which I don't.

Also I prefer the Buster Lizard because it's a lizard that busts things up.

This thread has been hilarious. Especially the part where icycalm was being defended. Kind of makes me wonder if bribes, threats, or sexual favors were involved... I have a hard time understanding why someone with his head so far up his ass deserves any support any other way.

Wait. Isn't this the guy who was babbling about donating money to CAVE so they'd make Guwange 2 or something?

Oh god, he has a thread dedicated to people's reactions to him on other websites? That's adorable. That's something I'd expect out of a lonely 13-year old kid who posts shitty comments on YouTube just to get a reaction. Negative attention is still attention, y'know?

I'd almost feel bad for him if he wasn't an irredeemably arrogant helminth of a human being.

Ed Oscuro wrote:I think we all know that dictionaries are more relevant in determining the proper hierarchy of the rational arts than empirical, consistent evidence presented in the years since the middle of the 19th century.
Too bad they are still unreliable, and, of course, in part, never the same. But you would believe anything and everything they say, wouldn't you? Ah, the dictionary: a refined, perfect compendium of factual definitions! lol!
Ed Oscuro wrote: The point that is most galling to me is the "Icy's style doesn't count" argument. This a tacit admission that Icycalm isn't effective, and that he would be more effective in boosting his favorite ideas if he quit the needless rage and wrote in a direct style (aside from when bashing somebody).
Because saying "style doesn't count," that means that icy's argument isn't effective? What kind of retarded bullshit is this? And there isn't any "needless rage" in his writing–you're just hallucinating (You couldn't pull up any examples, either). His attacks are clearly justified.
Ed Oscuro wrote: The two primary functions of philosophy are first to determine the proper manner of action (since science just describes how things are), and secondly in popularizing those ideas so they may have effect.

Once a philosopher forgets the muddy roots of humanity they cease to be relevant.
And so, this is reason enough to dismiss all of his arguments entirely? Give me a fucking break! And no matter "where" an argument is or can be presented, you must still judge it by its own merits. Oh, but you can't understand them! Boo-hoo. Well, if so, it's because they weren't written on such a low level–and they shouldn't be. How do you come up with such inane logic?
antron wrote:a philosopher or a physicist can change the world, but a physicist can do it instantly.
As icycalm said, physicists like to shuffle formulas around for years on end, and what further? Oh yeah, monkeys on on the fucking moon. And how the fuck do they "do" it instantly? Trashy bullshit.

And it's funny how the anonymity of teh interwebs seems to be a free first class ticket to douchebaggery.

i like the idea of using this as an "icycalm's greatest hits" thread even though practically every post is a gem

in which icycalm bans a non-native speaker for not being able to write perfect english and the unforgivable crime of being wrong

it's easy to be fooled into thinking that he's a fantastic troll, but then you realize, no, he really is just a twat. reading his board chronologically is great because it's like some sort of descent into further megalomania, especially when his own fans finally tire of him abusing them and get banned themselves. he has a secret forum (referenced here) where his slavering fanboys doubtless alerted him on the double so instead of responding to them here everyone should just post more best-of content

drinking game: see how often icycalm himself makes spelling/grammatical errors or makes factually incorrect assertions! but don't tell him or you'll never be able to post in his playground again

(posting with proper capitalization and punctuation would just be so wrong in an icycalm thread)

I must say though, that thread with Recap was comedy gold. Recap is in a league of his own when it comes to intolerance and ego.

You developed that knee-jerk "misogyny! despicable! ban this sick filth!" reaction all by yourself, with no outside influences whatsoever, and you'd have turned out just the same if your mind hadn't been shaped by what you'd heard other people saying for the past so many years, yes. lol. For fuck's sake, you didn't even come to know the concept "common sense" on your own, you congenital moron!

And now we're resorting to namecalling? That's a shame. I thought you were pretending to be an intellectual like icycalm!

Oh, wait.
