1. Stop! Grammar time.Kaspal wrote:i LOL'ed hard at this part... its so true man!!MR_Soren wrote:Zwei, we get it, you do not like this game that you've never played before and consider it to be a rip-off. You don't need to say it again.
However, I should point out the fault in most of your posts: A longer game isn't necessarily a better game. Likewise, getting kicked in the balls for 30 minutes isn't as good as 15 minutes of sex. I'd spend a little extra to get the sex, even though it doesn't last as long as the ball kicking.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this game. It looks like it will be a lot of fun.
i usually dont buy games that i dont intend to play for long periods of time, and since im more of a handheld gamer now adays than ever, some shmup love on the go its a heavens blessing for me.
ketsui its one of those "rare" cave games on home consoles, and havin a boss-rush of it on the go its pretty good for me... sure, i'd love to have the whole thing on the go, but if its NOT technically possible rite now, i'd settle for the boss-rush in the blink of an eye.
you dont wanna pay for it, Zwei, dont worry, we will, and by the time you decide to do so (which i doubt, btw) we'll be happy with our hard copy of the game.
i really wanted to reply to lots of your messages, i found some of them pretty hilarious, but sadly i was at work and was kinda hard for me to read them while there (i dont ahve time for forum browsing while at work), but one thing is for sure dude, GET A LIFE!... we already know you dont wanna pay for the game, and that you'll pirate it... is there a need for you to say it a billion times?.
im no cave fanboy... im a shmup lover, and since cave makes good games its only natural for me to want to play every shmup the churn out, if that makes me a fanboy, fanboy i am then... is there a problem with that?... if i wanna buy a "demo" of a game for 500 bux, why are you suffering for that?... is your money that is being spent or something?.
just let it go man!... most of us wont have the chance to play the full fledged ketsui EVER (i dont have a JAP X360, or i'd be importing this one aswell), so whts wrong of playin only the boss fights?... even moreso, what wrong on enjoyin the bossfight of such game ON THE EFFIN GO!?... i'll gladly pay my 50-60 bux for it... and dont cry for me, cuz i dont feel like i've been ripped off, im just payin for another fix of somethin i like, so if i wanna pay for that is MY FREAKING PROBLEM, not yours.
so, save the preach on me (at least), im not listenin... and, yeah, like FrederikJuk said, ban yourself man!.
2. When people PAY for half-rate products, it tells the publisher "more please!" As such, Arika will realize what they can get away with, and charge even more for an even shorter game next time.
3. I WILL indeed buy the demo, for a reasonable price. ($20-25)
4. The game may be region-free on the 360. The console doesn't have a forced region encoding, so it's left up to the mind of the developer or publisher.
5. Again, dude, the grammar. What are you, black or something? Either way, you're no 'gangsta', so please, drop the act.

6. You act as though pirating a game to avoid giving an unreasonable amount of money to a greedy/lazy developer is a bad thing.

Schrodinger's cat wrote:Yeah, "shmup" really sounds like a term a Jewish grandmother would insult you with.
If you paid $80 for a used copy of PS2 DDP:DOJ, then you paid too much. The game still sells new for around $65. Arika have constantly done additional print-runs of both DOJ and ESPGaluda upon fan demand. I doubt that Ketsui DS will be any different in that regard.Zweihander wrote:I got Rez on PS2 for $12 from them, so who knows. However, every Cave shooter's price skyrockets near the end of their production run, and there never seems to be a price drop. I was lucky enough to find DaiOuJou for $80 this year at a gaming convention, used but in pristine condition. This, however, is Cave's first portable outing, and it's just a demo of a full game being released for the 360, so we'll see.

2) ppl is used to pay even more for garbage, whats so different now?... please, you'll get a heartache for suffering for others purchases dowgh
3) yeah right...
4) the game is being made in japan, by japanese devs, and japanese publishers... chances are the game will be region locked. in case its not, i'll pay for a copy of it too!... hope you dont mind me buyin it (since you're so concerned about what ppl buys with their OWN money!)
5) 1st... read the 1st point again... and second, what if i am? is there a problem with that?, since when cant black ppl come into forums and talk about games?... GROW THE FUCK UP!
6) pirating a game made by small dev. will make them think twice (or more) the next time they try to make a game (remember, they do THIS for a living... it doesnt matter if the game looks half-assed for you or not), im no saint, i pirate games every now and then, but i also BUY the games i REALLY WANT... and FYI, most of the times, the game devs. work with lil money, and come up with outstanding products. time will tell, but i dont think Arika will let me down with this one... and even if they do, im still glad because they delivered somethin i've been wanting to play like... forever?.
again man, get out, get some air... some sun on your skin wont hurt.

Zwei, what's your opinion of games like Bangai-O Spirits? Certainly that game has its share of dissappointed members (refering to a certain response from insert-credit forums).
I bought the game knowing full well in advance what I'd be getting into, considering Treasure's approaches with "sequels"/portable versions of their hits. I was satisfied for what I got, and I'm assuming if Ketsui DS were to ever make it to shores here at a reasonable ($20-30) price, I'd get it as well.
BTW, learn how to spell.

This is actually a flawed argument. Piriting a game would force them to make the game harder to obtain, not necessarily improve the quality of their next outing. I've seen the responses some doujin/small devs did by either making their titles limited releases or only downloadable online.Kaspal wrote:6) pirating a game made by small dev. will make them think twice (or more) the next time they try to make a game (remember, they do THIS for a living... it doesn't matter if the game looks half-assed for you or not), im no saint, i pirate games every now and then, but i also BUY the games i REALLY WANT... and FYI, most of the times, the game devs. work with lil money, and come up with outstanding products. time will tell, but i dont think Arika will let me down with this one... and even if they do, im still glad because they delivered somethin i've been wanting to play like... forever?.

Better an honest pirate than one who tries to justify why he thinks what he's doing is right (refering to Kaspal). If you're gonna do it, don't make yourself look like a saint.Zweihander wrote:6. ok pops... i'll start a new university course, majoring in english... maybe then i'll learn how to spell and shit.sfried wrote:Zwei, what's your opinion of games like Bangai-O Spirits? and, i dont think Zwei is a "honest" pirate... nor i intended to look like a saint either... but to each their own.
edit: in the 6th point of my last reply, what i was tryin to say is, for small devs, if they see their product its widely pirated, they will think twice (or more) before even thinkin on makin another game, since probably there's not enough income for their hard work. it may sound flawed, but it certainly is true.
again, im no saint... i pirate some of the games i play, but that doesnt stop me from buyin the games i want, when i want, if i can. is just a matter of taste and perspective, i think.

That's my point: He just pirates, and shuts up about it. (i.e. what they call "concealing your power levels" in 4chspeak)Kaspal wrote:and, i dont think Zwei is a "honest" pirate... nor i intended to look like a saint either... but to each their own.
Edit: On topic, XSEED probably? They're already planning to bring KORG DS-10, and that's not even a game.
w00t?... dude, all i could read about him in the last 20+ posts is "im gonna pirate the game while you'll be paying for it, you fools!"... if that is keeping your mouth shut, i wonder how would it be if the was vocal about it!.sfried wrote:That's my point: He just pirates, and shuts up about it. Spirits was... different. I think in hindsight, my only complaints were as follows:sfried wrote:Zwei, what's your opinion of games like Bangai-O Spirits? Certainly that game has its share of dissappointed members (refering to a certain response from insert-credit forums).

[x] No "campaign" mode. With 160 (or 170+ in the US version; I bought both) stages, you'd think they could give you maybe 5-10 stages, you beat them in any order, unlock the next group, wash, rinse, repeat.
[x] No boss "characters", so no deliciously hysterical engrish.
[x] The sprite limit in Edit mode seemed rather low.
[x] Sound Load is a royal fucking pain in the ass, and gimmicky to boot.
Otherwise, I felt it had the following improvements:
[x] Fine-tuned control scheme. While the "ABXY = shot directions" worked in the Dreamcast version (and analog or C buttons on N64), the new scheme is pretty much necessary for the dual-weapon and dual-EX features, and separating/combining them works like a charm.
[x] Speaking of weapons: HOLY VARIETY, BATMAN. Extremely versatile load-out options.
[x] 170+ stages.
[x] Epic victory music, Gunstar Heroes throwback.
On the note of piracy: I purchased the following games (brand new) after playing them bootlegged first.
Gradius V
Katamari Damacy
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
ESPgaluda
Ikaruga
Half-Life 2
Rez
Triggerheart Exelica (the $80 special edition)
All of the Touhou games
Generally, I download a game I'm interested in to evaluate it. If I find that I keep coming back to it, and if I feel that it's worth my money, I'll buy it new to show support. Hell, if the 360 port of Ketsui is region-locked, I WILL MOD MY 360 solely to play it. (Plus, I'd be able to play Cave's other eventual 360 ports as well) Why pay $60 now for a demo when the full game will likely be $10 more? Again, it would be like buying the Spore Creature Creator for $60.
On the note of skin color: Jesus Fuck, you guys take things a tad too seriously. Why so serious?

I think everybody reading this thread already knows what you think about Ketsui DS, is the point. Don't let that stop you banging on about it, though. You're obviously getting something out of it.

For your information, making people angry over the internet is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. Maybe you can convince yourself that trolling and insulting makes you somehow stand above us, but you´re not the clever manipulator that you think you are. You´re just annoying as hell and I´m saying you should get banned.Zweihander wrote:But even more important than that: amusement at the expense of fanboys.
