What are our thoughts on Sarah Palin

I vote that the shmups forum line up behind the thought that sarah palin is hot but pretty damn crazy.

Oh yeah and she was part of an Alaskan secessionist movement. Wut the hell? If you don't want to be a part of this country why run for vice president?

If memory serves it was actually her husband who was a member, though she's often described as "associated with" the group. Frankly, compared to some of the other stuff we know about her, this is the least of my worried - regardless, one can only imagine how the media would have reacted if it'd come out that Michelle Obama was a member of a group that wanted Hawaii to secede or some such thing...once again, of course, IOKIYAR.

By the way, apparently loyalty and secrecy are big parts of Palin's way of doing things...but she said she's out to change the way things are done in Washington, and she's a hockey mom so she can't lie, right?

Slightly off topic, but today I read a fascinating book titled The Predator State: How Conservatives Abandoned the Free Market and Why Liberals Should Too by James K. Galbraith (the son of the famous economist John K. Galbraith) The thesis of the book is that the twin notions (a) that so-called "conservative economics" (deregulation, tax cuts, free trade) actually works, and (b) that the United States actually practices these "conservative" economic policies, are just about as absurd as the notions that communism actually works and that present-day China actually practices communism.

I highly recommend this book to Americans thinking of reluctantly voting Republican because while they don't quite trust McCain or Palin, "everyone knows" that Obama's left-of-center economic policies will surely ruin their country.

In leftism 'country' means all the people living within the borders of said 'country'.
In rightism 'country' just means the ground you live on leaving all the other people within the border to their own fate.

Yeah, you're right, Obama's left-of-center economic politics will ruin the 'country' those rightists love.

For the enemies of the states (communists, liberals etc...), yes it is indeed. But for the citizens of the United States of America (patriots, conservatives etc...), it definitly isn't.

Hussein's local "priest" from the Trinity's Church was quoted saying "God damn America", this just tells you how much Hussein "loves" the country in which he is running for President.

Ah, but surely then the US only counts a handful of citizens with the rest being just, in their eyes, lazy rotten welfare collectors which can't be called citizens as well.
