Well, it will be interesting to see which direction they're taking the game in. If they make it even harder than the prequel, it's unlikely that human beings will be able to 1CC it
Wow - I don't think I'm going to need my morning coffee anymore - this has got me stoked! DDP V - a dream realized.
Maybe this'll be the first kit I buy new...
For drboom,
DDP V ain't gonna be cheap when released on day one -- be prepared to spend upwards of 200,000+ yen for such brand new PCB kit...
A high-res DDP V could seem possible or it could be the same ol' low-res Cave styled shmup we all love so dearly on the SH-3 based hardware... ^_~
I once asked here on the Shmups.org forum if Cave intended to do another sequel to DDP-DOJ and was told that DDP-DOJ was the very last one...well, after hearing today's news of a DDP V PCB sequel. That is finally a reality -- it's about damn time that Cave came full circle with it's Donpachi series..... ^_~
Aiming for the sexy shmup character factor with DDP V? Could be another serious-minded DDP shmup title as with the last one released back in 2002... ^_~
I'm curious as to what the pre-conceptual artwork looks like for this upcoming DDP V PCB game...
It would seem fitting that Cave would have the foresight to release such BL version of DDP V. And if no port comes along -- then we'll just have to be content with the PCB version...... ^_~

Cave's last serious themed shmup was ibara, wasnt it? its very likely that theyll put some annoying dolls in it. it would kill the spirit of ddp (at least for me)

I imagine they will be about 2200 USD which is what the last few Cave pcb's have been when they were released. No big deal. I crap that kind of money.
Seriously, I think I'm prepared to pay. What about the rest of the boards? Anyone really committed at this early date??

I think looping is stupid because first loop becomes easy when you're good and wastes a lot of time, not only because you have to memorize twice as many stages but because you have to play the damn easy stages every time you do a bloody run.
I've been saying this for years, so agreed. Getting tired of DDP?

It's also just boring to play easy stages when you're good enough to play 2nd loop, in my opinion. I'm curious what the best players think about that.
Afaik Muchi Muchi Pork features a mode that lets you play the second loop without having to go through the first. It would be cool if they programmed something like that into DDP Daifukkatsu
(assuming it does loop, which I think it definitely will)

Not really, but I've been thinking for quite some time that it is the main flaw of Dodonpachi. I still love it anyway, but that's probably partly because I don't do runs when I play, I use save states. I just know it will waste a lot of time (and has wasted quite a lot) when I will do full runs.
