Don't forget some of those photos are for the psp (or at least, I assume since the screen shoots are so small.)
I need to say, with the SS and KOF packs on their way, there is very little reason left for me to pick up this set, though it would be fun to play Sengoku a couple more times and then forget it again.

Agreed. The filtering on those Metal Slug screen-shots looks identical to what's in the XBLA version of MS3... and that did not have an option to turn the filter off.
Why isn't waku waku 7 on this port? That was actually a pretty damn good fighter (if not a bit silly).

I don't think SNK developed that one.
True, although they did license Galaxy Fight and WW7 for the upcoming Sunsoft Collection (no Astra). Putting one half of that collection here would be a silly move (then again, the PSP Orochi Saga appears to have KOF94 and KOF98 so who am I to say).
I really wonder what Vol. 2 will have on it; considering the Wii's Neo Geo channel. Maybe older stuff?
I'll probably break down and buy this, especially if it has Wii Classic Controller support. It's got enough games to justify a purchase. I actually do prefer Burning Fight to Final Fight.

You're on crack.

Japanese and Asia PSP version of Volume 1 open for pre-order at play-asia. I will surely be picking up a copy of this PSP version, and maybe also for the Wii-J if announced soon.

No, I just like it better. *shrugs*. I'm pretty curious about King of Monsters; I LOVE Primal Rage on Midway Arcade Treasures 2-how does King of Monsters compare?

That's like comparing apples and oranges. Very different games. Primal Rage is side view left/right 1 on 1 with some combo focus and King of Monsters has more of a Final Fight view with some wrestling style elements. KoM 1 is 1 on 1, but the second has scrolling sections before the boss fights. I found the King of Monsters games fun when playing at arcades, but both games have broken grapple mechanics.

Ok, thanks for that info!
I have to wonder how well this collection is going to sell on the Wii, given that some of these games are already available through the VC. Then again, some aren't, and it might be a good way to save memory.

I just hope it introduces Neo Turf Masters to a wider audience. That game is seriously awesome as a drinking game. Unfortunately, the fact that it only supports 2p is a bit of a crippling blow.

Not sure if this is the right place, but I was trying out different PS2 games to see how they look on the HD and see which ones had progressive scan. I found something interesting with the Fatal Fury Battle Archives v. 1. The menus showed up fine, but the actual games displayed like PS1 games. This means that the games are either in low res or an odd unsupported resolution. The collection is filtered, but it seems the games aren't in 480i or 480p (the TV supports 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i). From the looks of the Metal Slug, I'm guessing the SNK collection won't be in low res.
Dave, King of the Monsters 2 on Neo Geo is broken indeed, like BrianC mentioned. HOWEVER, KOM2 on the SNES fixes most of the issues, and feels more balanced... it can be quite fun when you find the right way to beat a monster. Highly recommended.
Genesis version is good as well, not sure how it compares to the SNES one but the same changes are made (ie, it's more of a fighting/wrestling game instead of a broken wrestling game)... I own the MVS and Genesis carts and still play the MVS one more often though since it's pretty fun in 2p while credit feeding.

Yay! Finally they announced the release date! Also, on the PlayStation website there are like 10 screenshots. I think that NAM-1975, Ikari Warriors and 2020 Super Baseball should have been included. Anyway, I'm still looking forward to it.

It looks like the Asia PSP version is out and in-stock at play-asia and yesasia. Did anybody get this or can confirm if blood/violence is in the Asia release? I am assuming that the US version will be censored, unless anyone can confirm otherwise.
