VP1 differs from Star Force in that VP1 is actually a decent game
I'm sure Edge will find some way to cripple it though. Even though it's played exclusively in MAME and has no ports.

But miss a medal, or a hidden bonus, or a bell (or a properly colored bell), or a medal flash, or miss a this and that, and you're scoring chain (and thus score) is fucked. So really, I don't see much of a difference beyond changing a word.

I bet the impulse votes are on the worry that 3-5 people will have a much larger score than everyone else at RFJ so they vote for the other game, only to be crushed by those same 3-5 people.
Not that I mind either choice because neither of them is Raiden 1

NOT A VOTE, VOTED EARLIER.
Has anyone actually spent time playing viper phase 1 for score and realized how frustrating it is to score in, not to mention its not even fun? RFJ has an interesting scoring system AND is interesting to play (i.e. your ship doesn't move at 2 mph with 500 mph bullets). Seriously people, you guys need to vote for what game is best, not what you think will help you win (it won't help you win at all anyways voting for something no one is an expert in, when the people who would have won if RFJ was voted would probably still win).

I wonder if anyone is ready for:
-No extra lives
-No endlessly exploitable mechanics that require little effort to pull off
-No patterns that repeat over and over that become marginal once learned
-No panic bombs
I am!
bonus points on whoever understands this massive burn
