And somehow, I got a Guwange vibe from that flyer, too, but I have absolutely no idea why. Maybe they´ll do another "walking" shmup.
No chance, the chick has wings.
do you think that the characters of epsgaluda, who have wings, never walk?
actually it seems pretty cool to have a walking, flying shmup hybrid (again). reminds me of a game i used to play on the nes where there was a big, white robot who wandered over the ground and who could transform in a jet-like thing and fly. it was a hori, side-scrolling shooter of some sorts. anyone know what i'm talking about?

Well of course they can walk, but the fact they have wings and are in a shooter means its obvious it will be them flying.

guess you've got a point there... unless the wings will serve as a shield or special attack. that she goes flapping her wings blows all enemies' bullets back to where they came from. could be cool that you yourself can't shoot but that you have to use the bullets that are shot at you to kill the enemies.

Air fortress?
don't think so, i'll check it out to make sure. i had a 256in1 nes cart back in the day with all kinds of funky shit. think that the game that i'm describing was located further down in the alphabet.
I doubt I'll ever enjoy the benefits of Guwange. I don't like the whole setup between using the shikigami and rapid fire. Plus the movement while firing doesn't sit well either. Definitely, if there was a game that required a lot of attention and time it's this one. STGT really opened eyes.
Anyway... I guess Ikea will be heading this project so whatever scoring mechanic it has will be interesting to note of when the time comes.

So this will be Cave's first Swedish modular furniture shmup?
I don't think it ever has. Reaching back into the depths of my brain, I recall some creative quarrels over how dark the backgrounds were to be in parts of ESPRade.
reason being is that most in game sprites have to work over all backgrounds, as ESPRADE had daylit environments , along with a dark interior and nighttime scene, i guess that a background that is too dark, or uses too much black will make the brighter sprites "pop" too much and look a bit jarring.
a good artist can portray darkeness without using black, and shadows aren't necessary - that said, i'll bet it doesnt stray too much from cave's existing background look.

Err... I know this is old, but since this was never actually mentioned explicitly in the thread:
(Lifted from a scan of the OST insert)
That was on the insert? I should dig through mine. We were pretty certain it was Inoue, though. Myself and CIT were ready to bet our left balls on it (actually I think his right, my left). Anyways, apparently official. Great news.

They whole deck of card's thing came from a play on Toaplan. トアプラン rearranged is アトランプ (A trump). Trump is what Japanese people call playing cards. アトランプ was the name of their internal newsletter.
