Hi,
It looks like BS is going to win. I was wondering if anyone here can help me make sure it's set up correctly. I'm going to be using an MVS cart plugged into a Supergun. Is there any kind of system menu or something I can use to make sure it's on normal.
I've barely played since I got it a couple of years or so ago and for all I know it's set to rock hard or dead easy.
I got Sexy P working in mame as well so I'm good to go on either game, it's still touch and go as to which will win.
Cheers

Sorry but if it's not implemented in the original game (like it is with Batsugun), it's simply considered a cheat. Everything that's not part a the original game is considered as a change in the gampelay and can't be even thought about in a contest. It's not "legal" kiddo.Gemant wrote:no autofire???Vincere wrote:Ok so Blazing Star is officially selected I guess. But seriously people, NO autofire allowed. This is just a cheat like inputing a code, so you're out of the contest if you use it.
why???
autofire is legal and important for hi-score!
But let's see what Edge thinks of that.

Edge already said what he thinks of it back on page 1 of this thread. So why is this still being debated like it's never been addressed?Vincere wrote:Sorry but if it's not implemented in the original game (like it is with Batsugun), it's simply considered a cheat. Because some people like to be incredibly anal (and really fucking annoying) about their dislike of usage of autofire. It's not like it hasn't been discussed already. Its accepted as legal for the vast majority of games in the genre, and only in exceptional cases is it outlawed. As far as I'm concerned, if its usage is allowed in the rules of the tournament, I'm using it.The Coop wrote:Edge already said what he thinks of back on page 1 of this thread. And for those who don't like using it... well... enjoy your RSI.

Anyway, if autofire is allowed for games that are not made for it, more power to the ones that are used to this. That won't change my regular view "autofire=cheat".
Just try to figure it out: you're tapping your A button for minutes and then you need to mash it all along the boss battle. If you've got the autofire, no need to focus on your physical skills, just keep the button pressed. But if you don't play with it and fail to deliver the wanted fire rate, then it's all your fault.
This is the law of nature. Only the strong survive lol. I'm serious though.
Edit: As I shocked some pure and sweet souls, just ignore all my purpose at will. If everybody agrees, no problem.

Bowing down like that isn't neccesary and just downright "unpleasant"!
It's like saying: hey all winning cyclist use drugs and therefore it's right to do so.
Well it's not neccesarily so.
If not ALL people and especially people owning the original have access to this it's NOT fair!

The point of autofire is to focus more on dodging instead of wasting brainpower on pressing the button as fast as possible.Vincere wrote:Just try to figure it out: you're tapping your A button for minutes and then you need to mash it all along the boss battle. Damn, you're quite accurate. ha ha ha. I guess this bunch of retarded junkies just took over some aspects of my internet behaviour.Icarus wrote:I'm starting to see a pattern here.
Aren't you a neo-geo.com regular, Vincere?
But hey, this is just a friendly discussion, if everybody is ok with autofire, I'll use it if possible as well. Too bad the guys that use the MVS version will sweat to death trying to get the same firepower all along the game ha ha ha.

I don't think autofire is all that important for Blazing Star anyway. Besides the Windina who seems to rely on its rapid shot far too much, most scoring is done by chaining with the charge shot.Vincere wrote:But hey, this is just a friendly discussion, if everybody is ok with autofire, I'll use it if possible as well. It's also a topic that's been bludgeoned to death, and something that's already been decided upon for this first week of competition, little manVincere wrote:Because this is a worthy discussion boy.The Coop wrote:

But in all seriousness, notice that just because it's allowed, doesn't mean it's mandatory. You're perfectly free to use or not use it at your discretion. If the charge shot is important to you and your scoring, don't use it. If it's not, then autofire away.
