I suppose one of the appeals to some who "collect" laserdiscs is the awesome jackets you can get.Ed Oscuro wrote:
Those OutRun superplays...not sure how excited I'd be by the content but those covers look great.

That's exactly what I want to hear. The jump from RF to composite is pretty big, so is moving from composite to s-video.....if going from s-video to RGB is another big jump I'm excited to see that in action!Skykid wrote:^ S-Video is junk man. When you get the RGB hooked up it will look like a dream.

Right now I'm liking the sight of these better than pretty much all the other mech action figures typically showcased here. The reason is perhaps the same why I like hardware design of Air Duel so much - lavishly arthropodal.Axelay wrote:Spoiler
Just got my hand on two aura battlers
I was upset with how little was in the box with the second one but I love the bulky build of the figure it's really growing on me .
The one above (leprechaun ) is just really cool looking just need some tamashi stands to make him really pop

Sweet. I don't have anything hooked up to RGB yet, but I have seen how sweet it looks. It's funny. At Too Many Games this year, in the gaming area, there was a PC Engine Duo R with Winds of Thunder hooked up with RGB to a Sony monitor and next to it was a Sega Genesis with multicart hooked up to an HD TV. Guess which one I wanted to play more?Shoryukev wrote:I got my SCART cables for my SNES, genesis model 1, and saturn last night. For some reason the SNES one is a braided cable, while the other two are not....kinda odd...but whatever. They all worked flawlessly, and I was very happy with how snug they fit into the systems.
I was very surprised at how much better RGBS looks coming from s-video, it's stunning! I don't know if I've ever seen all that dithering in this game before, maybe a little bit of it....but I never realised it was everywhere LOL. I'm very happy so far with the jump from s-video on a 32" television to RGB on a 14" PVM. It's taking me awhile to get used to the screen being so small, but the sharpness and clarity is well worth it.
I didn't have a whole lot of time to sit down and play, but I got a couple of rounds of Street Fighter 2 Turbo in on my SNES. Tonight I'll try to get some better pictures (and probably with MUSHA, this is a shmups forum after all), but one of the pictures I snapped with my phone came out pretty decent so I figured I'd post it. Also updated my avatar with another one of the pictures I took LOL
Excellent stuff.CIT wrote:Not new per se, but I had the opportunity at a conference to have my Namco Museum boxed set signed by some legends:
Sweet. Did any of the Namco guys say anything about the ports?CIT wrote:All the Namco folks gave talks at the conference, explaining some of the intricacies of their game design, specifically Pac-Man, Xevious, Druaga and Baraduke. Maybe I'll post some of the insights here.
I also met Seiki Okude (a.k.a. Seiki Sato) there, who was programmer on Strikers 1945, Gunbird and Sengoku Blade, as well as SFC Fire Emblem and Kaeru no tame. Unfortunately, I didn't know beforehand he was going to be there.
Sweet haul. Those are some killer deals.FinalBaton wrote:Lots of cool stuff this week!
