Re: Deathsmiles IIX (Xbox 360) - GoD release in US/Can/Mex
I'd buy the game, but not as a download-only/game-on-demand

Considering this is the only way you'll get it unless you own a J360, then I say take what you can get.xbl0x180 wrote:I'd buy the game, but not as a download-only/game-on-demand

I have both 360s, but I'm too busy buying up PSP and NDS shooters at the moment. Still, it sucks for me that Cave decided to go this route. I probably will not buy the disc for a long time.

What do you expect, though?
If you were expecting another disc-based release here in the states, think again. It was amazing enough that the first DS got a disc-based release at all. But I dont see it happening again. It's just not the sort of game that sells well in retail (most people dont even know what it IS, after all. Retailers just stare blankly at you if you talk about it), but, with Live being what it is, and HAVING what it is, it IS the sort of game that could sell better on THERE. Along with the many other shmups that are to be found there.
Dont get me wrong, I prefer discs over digital myself.... I do have a physical copy of this game.... but still, getting it offa Live would be A: exactly the same content, and B: muuuuch cheaper than importing.
And I do think this game is worth it. It's too easy in terms of survival... dont buy if you're looking for that... but there's great scoring systems here; it's all about the points, kinda like Akai, and it's great fun and plenty of challenge to be had.

Pre-ordered from AmiAmi a week or so ago. Looking forward to this. If I like it enough maybe I will get a non-platinum hits copy.Casper<3 wrote:Deathsmiles II Platinum Hits. Announced.

Wow. Wasnt expecting a platinum hits for this one. Too bad there's nothing to add for ds2 unless they decide to pull a black label like they did for ds1.
This is my signature. It's so unique, nobody else has it.
Get the picture?

Woot! Been waiting a while for this. My line of thought was, if games like Oneechanbara can platinum in Japan, Deathsmiles II should have no problem.

Maybe if this game does well, Cave could do DeathSmiles 3.

I imagine that they will consult their stockholders to see if it's profitable, but ultimately defer to some American weeaboo who they've spontaneously decided to get all their ideas from.KiethSomataw99 wrote:Maybe if this game does well, Cave could do DeathSmiles 3.

I think it's safe to assume that "Cave Shooting Game" on the Vita will turn out to be Deathsmiles III.
Re: Deathsmiles IIX (Xbox 360) - GoD release in US/Can/Mex
So, was the first-printing card with the alternate soundtrack the only DLC for this game (as in, no extra paid DLC was released)? I tried looking through this topic but it's a bit of a jumble.

Really? It's Cave's 2nd best selling game. A Platinum release was pretty much guaranteed. The only thing that's surprising about this is that it took this long to get released. I was expecting this back in Summer. Maybe the international GoD release delayed it.powersoul wrote:Wow. Wasnt expecting a platinum hits for this one.
I'm expecting a Deathsmiles spin-off, not a direct sequel.Estebang wrote:I think it's safe to assume that "Cave Shooting Game" on the Vita will turn out to be Deathsmiles III.

I'll definitely be getting this. Probably wouldn't have bothered at full price, but at the platinum price it's too good to pass on.

International release? What? When?Cuilan wrote:Maybe the international GoD release delayed it.

That is sad because DSII is deff one of the better games. 360 version is so much fun.DrTrouserPlank wrote:I'll definitely be getting this. Probably wouldn't have bothered at full price, but at the platinum price it's too good to pass on.

North America isn't part of Japan.Sumez wrote:International release? What? When?Cuilan wrote:Maybe the international GoD release delayed it.

Yeah, he was probably referring to the US/Canada/Mexico Games on Demand release. Did a quick check and I don't think the Games on Demand release has spread to other regions.
The Games on Demand release is still cheaper than importing the Platinum Collection release.

I'm sure it is. But some people like a physical release over a digital one, and us smelly Europeans aren't worthy of a GoD release so we'll have to be content with importing it.StarCreator wrote:Yeah, he was probably referring to the US/Canada/Mexico Games on Demand release. I'd rather hold out for a EU release than buy a jap X360 right now.

You can say whatever you want about Microsoft, but for this generation, they definitely know what they are doing, and they are doing good. The idea actually came from Microsoft who wanted to dabble with digital imports.
"Microsoft approached us with an offer where they wanted to take a Japanese Xbox 360 game and as an experiment put it on Games on Demand ," said Makota Asada, Game Development Manager, in an interview with Siliconera. "Because our titles are shooting games, language is not that important, so we decided to try it along with Microsoft."
Now stop ignoring Europe, please.
Re: Deathsmiles IIX (Xbox 360) - GoD US/Can/Mex, Platinum JP
Is the Platinum Hits version still region locked? I'm assuming yes, but I'd appreciate if somebody could verify.
Re: Deathsmiles IIX (Xbox 360) - GoD US/Can/Mex, Platinum JP
It's still region locked, much like the previous Deathsmiles Platinum Collection.
Re: Deathsmiles IIX (Xbox 360) - GoD US/Can/Mex, Platinum JP
For 10 dollars more, I can get the disc, the manual, and the case. If I can do that with a game-on-demand, then it is cheaper. Otherwise, a game-on-demand is a waste of money.StarCreator wrote:Yeah, he was probably referring to the US/Canada/Mexico Games on Demand release.
