Now Toru Sakurai, the creator of the Arcana Heart series, has kicked the bucket too. It really is 2016 all over again...

It's really not, stop saying that. Obscure Japanese voice actors and anime producers aren't the same as a high profile celebrity apocalypse.

But still, I was devastated over Yuko Mizutani's death last year and I'm still not completely over her.

She voiced Pinoko in the 2004 adaptation of Tezuka's Black Jack (strongly recommended), but she's probably better known for her role as Sora in Digimon Adventure.

Putting aside the egregrious 2016 claim over this:

Arcana Heart isn't an anime. It's an extremely respectable fighting game franchise from Examu. And I believe the same staff were also responsible for two other excellent fighters (Daemon Bride, and Nitro Blasters, the latter of which I enjoy a great deal). So as a fighter fan, this one stings a bit.

It's no 2016 though. That was a true twilight of the gods.

Ian Brady died, predictably enough without revealing where his last victim was buried. What a cunt. :/ Still he'd been begging to go years earlier, so it's not all bad news.

That's the worst part, I'm pretty sure the parents died without ever knowing where their child's remains were.

More importantly, she was my girl Excellen Browning from the Super Robot Wars video game franchise.

Oh right, that Yuko Mizutani. Silly me, I should have known considering how often I've enjoyed watching Digimon Adventure.

Who are the rest of the cast then in every anime ever?

Unaware of this story, as a yank. Wikipedia read at lunch -- fuck me. Why couldn't they just have gotten high like everyone else in the 60's?

You mean like the Manson Family?
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

While I think you might be being sarcastic, I'd still like you to know that Gomamon's voice actor went on to voice Uzumaki Naruto, and that Tentomon's voiced Ichinose Ren in the DS otome game Otometeki Koi Kakumei★Love Revo!!.

Her voice clearly left a lasting impression on him. Bowie's not so much.

His death did spark a renewed interest from my side though, in taking up his entire back catalogue, which in turn resulted in renewed respect for the man. It's no exaggeration to claim that Bowie is one of the most talented and generally interesting musicians of the past 100 years. I wish it didn't take the loss of him for me to truly realise that. :(

He was a genius. Even though he gets grief for not giving some others enough credit, he was still 1 in a million.

Beyond gutted. I was more for Nirvana's punk as a teen, but as I've grown older Superunknown and Down On The Upside have become two of my favourites from that entire time. Appears to be suicide as well.
