Just a question, does this game properly support 480i or is it gonna be dumbly letterboxed (shrinked) like many of the games today? Which is a real hindrance for a CRT user like me.

It's a great trailer (is that some music by the guy who did Eschatos' soundtrack? sounds familiar!), which actually has me hoping that in the future we start seeing some vertizontals that take advantage of today's widescreen displays (blasphemy, I know).

During the review Mark says that the game doesn't have twin stick controls; maybe someone should enlighten him.
Also, someone with a youtube account should tell those moron-commenters that the slowdown is intentional.

It was part of the "letter of introduction" of the donation - either that letter got separated from the game or the letter was too long (almost 2 pages with an 11 pt font).

While I feel your pain I think it's best to let it go - they are not the "target" audience anyway. Though it would interest me whether it was deliberate in the Naomi version or simply a happy accident that gave the player a temporary reprieve that G.rev felt necessary to duplicate in the New Order release. And the slowdown isn't "all fun and games" - I find there are times where the slowdown messes with my screen traversal estimates, hindering my navigation through an approaching bullet cluster - typically ending with the demise of that particular chopper.

While I usually try to "set the record straight" on some youtube videos, you can't win 'em all.

Also, once again, another great review by Mark. I always love his shmup reviews, because it's clear that he loves the genre so much, and reviewers who actually try to play for score are rather rare birds indeed.

Dual stick control doesn't seem all that appropriate in this case as you do not have full 360˚control over the chopper - in the case of Zero Gunner 2 there is a better case for that kind of control scheme. Now granted I haven't spent all that much time with the dual stick scheme as I wanted to use the original arcade controls even when I was playing the "New Order" mode. When I'm too lazy to haul out the arcade stick I use a PS3 Fighting Commander 3 Pro (wish Hori would make a Xbox 360 version).

Agreed. While there are more in depth shmup reviews (for example, have a look at Serraxor's Channel), Mark is one of the few reviewers who has a mainstream audience while he also has some appreciation for shmups. Typically mainstream reviewers don't "get" the genre - and it shows in the reviews and scores. Maybe some subscribers watching his reviews may realize that they actually like shmups ...

If you check this (constantly updating) trophies website every now and then, you will see if they are the same set or will stack. You might have to wait if the stacked ones appear there or not (I'm using phone so I can't check yet). ^^;

The 360 achievements will stack tho, as mentioned on X360A.

9th is a Friday, so unless they get copies to dispatch the day before release day then it's shipping out on the Friday. It's probably coming from their channel islands tax haven, which always adds an extra day or two.

Same thing has just happened to me with the Doom 3 BFG edition. Out yesterday, dispatched yesterday, estimated delivery date is Tuesday.

Oh aye, I'm not bothered about it arriving on the wrong side of the weekend, or anything. It's just that certain places still have it listed as coming out in 5 days, so I've got my fingers crossed that Amazon's update is in error. It probably isn't, though.

Thanks. I'm not normally a trophy whore, but I wouldn't mind challenging this game again. Not that they were especially hard, save for 1 or 2 of them.

I doubt that the PAL release is being delayed given that Rising Star Games' web site list 2012 Nov. 14 as the North American release date.
It is more likely the amazon.de has run into some red tape that may prevent it from selling the game on German soil. The "Command & Conquer" franchise has always been plagued by this and the Under Defeat HD uniforms and other art may be construed by certain individuals as borderline "politically suggestive".

Technically, RSG did confirm Nov. 9th as the release date for PAL on their Facebook. and for further proof...THIS! (Not sure when about NA/US PS3 release though.)
