Is it possible to kill the snakes in stage 3 without breaking and without getting overwhelmed?

I believe you can (and probably should) get rid of the segments with a lock on and then destroy the front or back segment.

That's what I was doing at first, but I found most of the times I get overwhelmed with the snakes and the bullets, and then those pesky aimed shooter guys come. Then I have to break, only problem is, my runs are not always so perfect as to have a spare break in stock at the times I need em most.

I guess it maybe possible to get rid of them in time if you really point blank them, but it's a little risky. It doesn't help that there are only a few replays up online in 240p. This game would have really benefited with online replays in the scoreboards like Ikaruga.

I usually double break and kill them with lock on, because they are extremely lucrative points-wise. I'm playing on Novice though, so they are much easier to avoid than the Arcade setting.

I played my first few credits today. It's a really great game! I like the nice touches, like the ability to skip the 'intro' scene where you launch from that submarine, or that the hitbox can be navigated all the way to the bottom to the screen. The game itself is a blast to play.

Am I the only one finding extremely weird (suspicious ?) about that new score on the Arcade Original ranking with Type Z ? 17 billions with 110.000 hits ??? :?: :!:

I don't know about the Type I original all clear, could be legit, but that Just_J_Doggin is obviously a cheater indeed, I reported his profile, fuck those cheating bitches, everyone should do the same.

I mean 17 billions with 110.000 break rate  - seriously ?

By the way, how is this possible anyway do cheat like that and then have your score on a official leaderboard ? technically talking ? :? I'm really not an expert in computer... :|

To be honest all it takes to "cheat" on a leaderboard is to use cheat engine out of curiosity and your score ends up fucking up the leaderboard without you even realizing it

Do you mean schmitt1943? He's definitely legit. Check his twitter, he's been playing the arcade version since last year and has pics of his progression.

I meant epilis' unlimited ALL

there's no way in hell you could get 200k break rate in the first place, let alone get such a piss poor score with 200k break rate even if you got it somehow

Oh, I should've checked the Unlimited boards. Yeah, that's obviously fake. It sucks that people would cheat on a game that practically nobody cares about, but at least they're easy to spot so far.

Yeah i thought so schmitt1943 could be legit, his score is really high, but not 2 times higher than #2 spot, own by Japanese player since day one on Nesica ! (such as Sogo_Omiya for exemple, that you can see playing live at Hey Akihabara on my Youtube channel)

That Iconoclast dude is also quite suspicious, i mean seriously, he's everywhere on every game he plays, with like always super high scores...

So we have to consider that Time Attack first spot to be cheated as well I guess ?

 I suggest that every single player who cares about scoring and this game should report Just_J_Doggin as cheater in the options of his profile !

Hacked scores are going up? That's a shame. It was kind of inevitable, though. If I were designing a game with leaderboards today, I would probably enable a manual review of any top-ten score submitted. It would take a lot of time, but it would also prevent people from gunking up the leaderboards too badly.

They're probably the same douchebags that are running pirated copies as well. Some people just don't give a shmup.

Updated and loving the new screen options. emphatic I want to see a shot of your cab running this ASAP! :D

On the downside however, it reset my stats. No Type Z for me. :(

Yotsubane really knows what his audience wants:
- "Unofficial Score" system added : if for some reason (mostly framerate) a score is not judged valid, it is still added to leaderboard as an unofficial score
- Filter for official/unofficial score added
(...)
Some scores judged wrong were removed from leaderboard.

The framerate thing seems pretty strict, though. I just tried a credit and it's running at 59FPS for the majority of the time, but occasionally (and briefly) dips to 54-56FPS if there's a large explosion. This is unacceptable, it seems, so most of my scores are now unofficial! :(

Maybe if I fiddle with the settings a bit I can improve it...

It's a dual-core 2.2GHz laptop.

with shitty integrated graphics card

So, yeah. It's probably a surprise that CC runs as well as it does on this hardware. I'm hoping to upgrade sometime in the near future.

Crank the resolution right down and run fullscreen, should help quite a lot compared to its native res at 1280x720.

Must've reset because I did a check integrity cache to trigger the download. Bugger.

My stats are also there, steam updated normally and all was good.

What a fantastic update , all those little tweaks to deter the cheaters and the new resolution system, not to mention the support for the Hori EX2 and other XBOX360 stick controllers!

Ah shite, I forgot to mention that in the bug list. Performing a check integrity cache wipes your game data >_<.

Same thing happened to me when I patched. Luckily, all my Steam Leaderboard scores are still intact, so if I need to reference any of my PB's then they're right there. A minor setback, but at least my play data is intact.
Have you checked the Steam Leaderboards? It would be a shame if your scores on there were wiped, too.
