That's one massive cast

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Yep, polystone! And yeah, weighs a ton. Each little demon is pretty hefty itself. Damn shipping for the thing costs about as much as a cheap figure.DaneSaga wrote:yeah, absolutely awesome man!
what's it made out of? Polystone? resin?
Bet it weighs a ton.

I may have gone slightly overboard with the Famicom games in March, but I decided I'll finish my FC collection this year.

The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy, Guardic Gaiden, Ninja Cop Saizou, TMNT, Musashi No Ken, Kakefu Kun no Jump Tengoku: Speed Jigoku, Transformers: Mystery of Convoy, Cobra Command, Star Gate and Tatakai no Banka. I also finally caved and got an Everdrive. Not so I could stop purchasing legit games (obviously), but so I could easily play fan translations, hacks, and homebrews.
Also, did you guys know Guardic Gaiden comes with a cloth poster?

Holy shit that is cool.

Nice haul, Ghegs! That cloth poster is amazing. I also like the Japanese lookmof the Everdrive with the Famicom disk system font, nice touch. I kinda miss my FamicomTwin, luckily my mate still has it so theres always the chance I can do a mega-deal and get it back one day.

Holy fucking shit that cloth poster. I would love a high res scan of that. It's also incredibly hard to find the original artwork for the cover that Naoyuki Katoh did which is stunning and gorgeous.

Got it from Sophia Corp.
Thanks to this I also picked up a copy of Gunstar Heroes, which isn't a PCB, but is still pretty awesome.

NOTHING IS OVERI'll finish my FC collection this year

I wish it was as (relatively) simple getting NES stuff complete and in great condition. There's only five or so I'm interested in but wowzers, "good condition" doesn't mean what I'm used to (related, I didn't realise until I took a closer look at the reg card in my copy of Gradius that it's actually a foil scratch n' win thingy, unscratched. Not bad for 1986, glorious nippon) ;-;7

Picked up a few Saturn games within the last 2-3 weeks. PDS I've wanted to own since forever, once I clear Bloodborne I'll get to it.

@Roo Congrats man!!!

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Heh, that's basically how I started, only I've somehow managed to prolong the collecting even further. Got ~150 CIB FC games now, and I've got maybe 20 more on my to-get list. There's been many a time when I've felt that I was done and then end up discovering games I hadn't even heard of before, or find out that a game I had dismissed earlier is actually pretty cool.BIL wrote:NOTHING IS OVERGhegs wrote:I'll finish my FC collection this year![]()
I actually got into FC collecting after reading of you and a few others' exploits here. Ended up with ~50 CIB before considering the hard core done - not the biggest set, but still a few dozen more than I'd expected. Feels good just picking up the odd curiosity now.

I guess I'm old. So you can load games off of an SD Card? That's pretty dope. How hard is the install?opt2not wrote:SD replacement to the CD-ROM drive for the Sega Saturn!emphatic wrote:opt2not wrote:the Rhea![]()

I don't even know if I brought a Saturn with me. PDS would be a good one to play again... set aside 20 hours or so. Not too long for an RPG, and quite fun.
EDIT: I just googled his page. Nice April fool's post (I hope).

I'd like to hear about any possible drawbacks. Like, how's the Compact Disc Digital Audio support? Most Saturn games I've tried so far seem to rely heavily upon it.opt2not wrote:SD replacement to the CD-ROM drive for the Sega Saturn!![]()

I've downloaded about ~30 images to use on mine. 3 have worked. It's next to impossible to find titles that are compatible with this thing (Rhea), and I've gotten zero of my own rips to work. The card for the Dreamcast is much more forgiving.Obiwanshinobi wrote: I'd like to hear about any possible drawbacks.

Finally bought a new TV (Sony W800 series)
My old 32" simply felt hard to watch now that I've started moving into an apartment, it will be relegated to gaming duties later on I hope.

I wish I could've splurged a little more and got a few more inches of screen estate (this is a 55") but prices seriously started to go nuts above this size
(and this costed me more than enough anyway)
Toying with the idea of maybe getting a used projector & pull down screen in the future...we'll see.

yet more pickups. Man My Vita library more than doubled in the past week thanks to Target!!
@ DVD from Best buy and 2 more Target clearance games. & for MLB, and 11 for PS Allstars

And last. If you watch Deadliest Catch you may recognize this boat. Saw it while out for a walk in my Lovly city I like to call home. They dock and are from here.

Super simple to install. It took longer to open the case than it was to actually install this board.GaijinPunch wrote:I guess I'm old. So you can load games off of an SD Card? That's pretty dope. How hard is the install?
My main beef with this is the lack of a GUI to select games. Currently you have to cycle through games with a small button that is on the board (accessible when you have the drive door open). Though this could probably change with future firmware upgrades. Currently I have multiple SD cards with only a handful of games on each, so it makes for easier switching.Obiwanshinobi wrote: I'd like to hear about any possible drawbacks. As for CDDA support, I'm not quite sure since most of the games I have are in MDS+MDF format and they are fully functional.
Here's the rhea's tech details page: https://gdemu.wordpress.com/details/rhea-details/
"IMPORTANT: Images based on CUE sheets are not supported."
hmmm, that's probably the answer to your question?
Sorry to hear that. I've been using MDS+MDF's and they're working great so far. Though I haven't used any other format yet.rancor wrote: I've downloaded about ~30 images to use on mine. 3 have worked. Got it from a pre-order on the facebook page called "Let's make Sega Dreamcast GD ROM Drive Emulation Happen", there's a guy on there now taking orders for the next sale, so if you're into getting it you might want to join the page and throw him a message. He's selling them for $200 shipped in the USA.drunkninja24 wrote:Where'd you get the GD-ROM USB from opt? Looking around I couldn't seem to find any actually for sale anywhere...

Scored all Rockman X OSTs for $91 shipped:

I've been lazy about picking up that X-X6 box set, but when this whole lot came up for that cheap, I jumped.

its probably not as awesome as a Doom Guy diorama, but a freshly completed Strider kit is still pretty damn cool.

Personal preference obi, but I prefer the Strider Hiryu

Strider on his own is a tad over 9” (23cm), and 16.5” (42cm) with scarf.
