That is a sweet watch. I need to visit some of the guy's houses sometime. Almost Art Deco, but a step ahead...or around it...that's Frank Lloyd Wright style.system11 wrote:http://blog.system11.org/wp-content/upl ... bition.jpg
Loved the face texture, closest thing to a BioShock watch
The line looks affordable too!

This is all your fault, Skykid. Ever since I got to try yours at your meet in 2011, I've wanted one.
And now I have one. :3

But... don't you have another stick coming through your post soon

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Nope. KC's buying my Stunfest Qanba Q1 (too small for me, but makes a good starter stick for someone who's not used to them), and my SFIV TE is going into storage. No more sticks coming.CHI wrote:Awesome get geezaah![]()

The only other stick I'll be keeping with me now, is my Hori Real Arcade Pro for the PS2, unless there's a decent adapter out there that'll let me use the VLX on the PS2.

I like your style. In the UK it's still Reefer Madness, madness.

Nostalgia time.

80's Fighting Fantasy gamebooks - City of Thieves, Deathtrap Dungeon and Creature of Havoc. I was browsing my local bookstore and by pure accident I came across them, had no idea they were being re-published.
Briefly played City of Thieves as a teenager but never made it out of the city alive. Will be good to re-visit the series.

Oh, i remember those. They were really popular here around 95-96, they sold like hotcakes! I had two of them, can't remember which ones. Then Dragon Ball started airing and the interest waned a bit.Ruldra wrote:Nostalgia time. 80's Fighting Fantasy gamebooks - City of Thieves, Deathtrap Dungeon and Creature of Havoc. I found my old copy of Creature of Havoc only last week. As far as Fighting Fantasy books went I think it's one of the hardest and most unconventional books out there. I also found Demonstealer too, I remember loving that book as a kid.
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
These past few days I've read a bunch of reviews of the books. Despite being very hard, Creature of Havoc is wildly regarded as one of the best book in the series, along with Deathtrap Dungeon.Pointman wrote:I found my old copy of Creature of Havoc only last week. Fighting Fantasy is sort of making a comeback. A couple of the books are available on Steam, and more are coming. Stuff like dice rolling and map drawing are done automatically by the game.

I'd love a green card, although I hear if I get a bit of a tan I'll be OK...

Got a bookcase.

I was going to replace my old ones with Robusto boxes, but it was free.

And free is good! I'd like one of these myself, but I lack space for storage. My gaming is limited to 2 different bookcases/cupboards in the house; one for modern gaming, one for retro.Obiwanshinobi wrote:I was going to replace my old ones with Robusto boxes, but it was free.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
I have also very fond memories of these books (Lone Wolf, Fighting Fantasy, etc.), and I picked up a fuckload of them over the years (in French, first editions). I almost have the complete collection, but some of the prices on these have become ridiculous over the years. The books I don't own I have never seen in my life, not even online. Most of the rare books I've never seen another copy besides mine. There used to be some of these at local used bookstores, but the rare books are impossible to find these days. Too many of us picking them up...Ruldra wrote:These past few days I've read a bunch of reviews of the books. At my recent arcade meet I bought a Panasonic PT-AE200E projector from AO member tetsujin for next to nowt:

If you add this to a Vega 9000 DX, a Super Street Fighter II X pcb and a Richy13:

Oh, and 8' 8" projection looks like this looks like this:

Thunderforce III MD looks like this:

I also recently won a High Rate DVD 21 setup on Yahoo Japan which I didn't expect to work.

Oh ye of little faith...

Then mixin' it up with the projector...

Totally ossim d00dZ
Cheers,
Ralph.

The PC port isn't all bad (once you get it to work properly with analogue controller), but I wanted to examine by myself how faithful it is.
