God damn, 1.01 is pretty intense. I like this a lot. :)

(SPZ and Sapz are both me, obviously - please remove the Sapz score!)

Finally broke 300m, with a nice amount of change to boot! Seems that 1.01 practice paid off. Improving beyond this will be quite tough - replay studying time, I think.

It's a start. :P

EDIT: A nice new Maniac score. Should be able to improve this for sure, lots of stupid deaths all over the place. Maybe 450m for a target?

My legs are wobbly from the anxiety of that run. I got to Larsa with 2 lives and was hoping that I could just bomb her to death just so I could get the 1CC. Of course that would have been to easy though. She wiped the floor with me.

It might not be the best score aroud but I'm proud of it. I've decided to get back into this now so hopefully I'll be able to improve.

With this game it kind of works the opposite way around as I see it. If you have a good enough score to place on the board you'll have no much problem clearing the game at that point. Clearing it with one or none lives remaining per se doesn't boost your score by much.

I just read a little on the scoring system, its a little more complex than what i usually play but i begin to see whats it all about. Anyway started playing this two days ago, going pretty smoothly until mid stage 3 than gets completely raped by the boss, what a bitch. I try to play without bombs as much as possible.

*Edit : Btw, question might sound a bit noobish but i could not find clear infos on the subject yet. What is the difference between arcade and 360 mode, ive seen something about graphics and slowdowns but thats all. Which mode is used in this score board?

I believe both have separate scoreboards, that's how its normally done. I stuck with 360 mode personally. I don't think the difference in slowdown is as great as it was in the Arcade and 360 versions of DS for example. Gameplay-wise they should be the same. Really it is just the HD graphics.

This happens to me every damn time I play. I get better and better at scoring in stage 1 and 2, and then stage 3 just gets harder everytime I get there. Maxing out the stage multiplier really is not helping me.

The great thing is, I've been stuck in the same spot for months, and still get a blast out of playing this game. I'm almost caught up to myself on Maniac mode

Awesome! Congrats on the record. Is clearing Ultra (or at least getting to Stage 5 boss 2 or 3) in your plans at all, or will that take more time than you're willing to invest? Maybe your score can bring CRI and Ravid out of hiatus...

A 1CC of Ultra Mode or just getting to the TLB is just not gonna hapen. It's too demanding for me. I have the time & patience but not the skill needed to pull it off. I'm gonna continue to focus on scoring.

I'm currently working on some better scoring techniques in training mode. I'll be in the near 2 billion range if it all goes well. Piecing together this new run will take some time so I wont be uploading any new scores for a while.

No missed stages 1-3 which makes for a refreshing change, sadly some costly mistakes held me back in stages 4 and 5. Hope to improve on this fairly soon.

Well what do you know, played Futari for the first time in a month, and after several credits full of premature deaths pulled together a run full of deaths not exactly as premature, but definitely not less exceedingly dumb. :D

Version 1.5 - X360 - Original - Reco
moozooh - 232,219,040 - 5 Boss - Normal

Still not enough to dent the scoreboard, eh? Anyway, ended stage 2 with 54 or so million, reached st3 boss with over 90 but died twice to it (with full bomb stock, you guessed it right). No-missed most of stage 4, but managed to die again. With bombs in stock of course! No-missed the entire stage 5 up to the 1-up item which I couldn't get because I had no bombs in stock and ultimately died in a vain attempt to reach it in time. Met Larsa with a single bomb in stock and no lives left, died to her second pattern.

Bottom line: if I had spent my bombs cleverly and got the 1up I would have had a 300+ million clear with two lives in stock. Oh well.

[EDIT]
Version 1.5 - X360 - Original - Reco
moozooh - 248,899,138 - 5 Boss - Normal

Almost there! Died to a stray bullet in stage 2, no-missed/no-bombed the entirety of stage 3 up until the boss (one bomb spent; ended the stage with over 100 million), no-missed/no-bombed the entirety of stage 4 up until the boss (one bomb spent). Entered stage 5 with three spare lives, lost two of them almost instantly in a stupid, stupid way. Missed the 1-up as well, ARGH. Confronted Larsa with a spare life and got the last phase. Didn't make it thanks to lack of a good strategy. Practiced it since then and managed to find a consistent way to safely beat her with a spare life and two bombs in stock. Two spare lives at the start of the fight almost guarantee an easy clear. I just need that clean run I'm waiting for, would be incredible to have a 300+ million clear.

Took a small break from 1.5 Original.

BL - X360 - Original
moozooh - 548,252,517 - ALL (Lx2, Bx3) - Reco

Could have been a tad higher had I not died accidentally to the tail attack of Larsa's 3rd form. Score up on the leaderboards. It seems I need to score some 150 million more to be able to upload replays, huh...

[EDIT]
Version 1.5 - X360 - Original - Palm
moozooh - 239,164,206 - ALL (Lx0, Bx2) - Abnormal

Graphics glitched on me at st4 boss, making me perform considerably worse on stage 5 and miss the 1-up. Otherwise I would have hit my goal of 250 million, but oh well. I'll probably return to this when I'm done with Reco.

[EDIT]
Version 1.5 - X360 - Original - Palm
moozooh - 262,216,764 - ALL (Lx1, Bx0) - Abnormal

Finally, my first "serious" Cave 1CC with a respectable score to go with. The score is #169 on the 360 mode leaderboards, right above Elixir and Schro.

Stage 1: 16.6 million, 6.6k counter. Decent, but the boss fight could've been better.
Stage 2: 56.8 million, 16.1k counter. Average. I've finished with over 63 million before, although IIRC that was with Reco.
Stage 3: 103 million, 25.8k counter. Above average. Bombed three times (one of them at the boss) and fucked up an anthill, but thankfully those were the worst mistakes there, which is sadly not always the case.
Stage 4: 150 million, 24k counter. Above average. No-miss until the second phase of the boss (where I died with a bomb in stock), bombed the third phase. Though to be frank I'm surprised at how well I did there as stage 4 is probably the least fair towards Abnormal Palm with his inadequate C-shot and utter ineptness at dealing with large flying enemies scrolling down to the lower third of the screen. A pity that wasn't a no-miss, otherwise I would have had my score skyrocket in the first half of stage 5.
Stage 5 (up to Larsa): 243 million, 24.7k counter. Decent! Four bombs, some of which were a result of my greed (sometimes it's so fun to attempt killing a large enemy with the "right" shot I forget about safety), one miss with no bombs in stock at the very end of the stage. Spent a good deal with over 30k on the overall counter and with stage counter maxed-out. Bullets go fast, and I had a lot of close calls, but I really like the result.
Larsa: poor, unfortunately. Started the fight with three spare lives in stock and two bombs, ended with one life, no bombs. The second death was with bombs in stock, as you may have guessed. Kind of sad to wrap up a decent run with a last boss fight twice as bad as it could have been, but I guess one can't have it all at my level.

Alright, moving on to Reco and/or Black Label now.

And another nice score by yours truly!

Version 1.5 - X360 - Original - Reco
moozooh - 273,192,665 - ALL (Lx1, Bx1) - Normal

Stage 1: 16.8 million, 6.6k counter. Decent.
Stage 2: 58.9 million, 16k counter. Slightly above average.
Stage 3: 104 million, 21.8k counter. Not very good. Died a bit before the second flying mantis but decided I may have a shot at a high score if I perform aggressively. No-missed/no-bombed the rest of the stage including the boss (and killed all of its phases with the right shot) as the result. Also fucked up an anthill and a couple large enemies.
Stage 4: 163 million, 31k counter. Good! No-miss throughout, two bombs on the main stage (one preemptive at the midboss) and two on the boss (as safety precautions but I couldn't allow myself another stupid death there). Fucked up quite a few large enemies, but otherwise had one of the best st4 performances ever.
Stage 5 (up to Larsa): 252 million, 30.4k counter. Above average I guess. Had an unfortunate death right before the midboss with a bomb in stock, no-missed the rest at the expense of all four bombs. Got the 1-up cleanly.
Larsa: average. Started the fight with three spare lives and no bombs (worse than what I had in my earlier Palm credit), but didn't die with bombs in stock this time, which was a nice progress. Did poorly on the first phase, but the second and third were acceptable.

Overall it was a nice run, but I don't feel satisfied just yet. It seems getting to 300 million will be somewhat harder than I thought, but as I'm making rapid progress with this I feel I can do it. But where is Necronopticous? :(

Suddenly, a BL Maniac 1CC! This came out of nowhere, it was my third or so credit of the day, and somehow I'm at Larsa with a spare life and kicking major ass. :)

BL - X360 - Maniac
moozooh - 364,439,568 - ALL (Lx0, Bx0) - Palm

The first three deaths were stupid and avoidable. Larsa fight was excellent, and a good fun. I'll probably return to this mode because I'm sure I can do better (like clearing it with a spare life or two). I got most of the boss strategies down, they aren't really more difficult than in 1.5 Original.

I think I'm going to keep this thread busy for a while, too. :P

Novice - Original - Reco
moozooh - 379,754,683 - ALL (Lx5) - Normal

Gah, a little below my goal, but not bad at all for a random credit. Going to aim for 400 mil.

Novice - Maniac - Reco
moozooh - 401,297,408 - ALL (Lx5) - Normal

Not a particularly impressive run, but goal reached!

1.5 - X360 - Maniac - Palm
moozooh - 203,677,349 - Stage 5 - Abnormal

A milestone for the upcoming Maniac clear. That and 300 million on Original are my current goals for this game.

This is by a pretty long way the best score I've gotten in pretty much anything. Very, very happy with the no miss, too. I doubt I'll get another run close to as good as this in a long time. Replay coming shortly on YouTube!
