DVD is going to be someone's birthday present. I knew about Majesty Gold HD Edition, but if you're into physical copies, it is quite a loveable item, also...

She actually came with different hair and better hands, but I'm too apathetic to dig it all out. Only new thing in the pic was the cab, was a much bigger pain in the ass to build than I expected. I gotta buy a needle to use as the stick.

Not as big as the Boktai 1&2 carts. Also...

The only good (i.e. comfy) chair in my place broke after some years of duty so I picked up a - hopefully - sturdier one.

I wonder why people keep designing uncomfortable chairs. Or buying them while we're at it.

These are Madcatz Tatsunoko VS Capcom arcade sticks for the Nintendo Wii and WiiU.
The buttons are really great. They are just like the Sanwa buttons in my HRAP VX-SA but have a little more resistance allowing me to rest my fingers on them without accidentally setting them off. That is my gripe with Sanwa buttons.
The lever is decent for a stock part but has a way too large dead zone for inputs. The stick is tight enough to give it the feel of a smaller dead zone but requires elaborate motions to work accurately. I am putting Sanwa levers* in these sticks as the dimensions of the stock lever is identical to the Sanwa lever the mod takes 2 minutes start to finish.

* Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT

Question do you think it is worth getting the Sanwa octagonal gate for the levers? I have only used square gates but it seems like it must be way better. An Extra £6 each.

This game is my favourite non Neo Geo fighting game by far which brings us to item two...

First up I hit 3000 plaza population. After it hits 3000 the plaza population just says "3000+" I wish it kept the total running I want to see how many I can get before the system is done.

Second I got this small lot off Ebay the other day. $31 fror the lot. It will be my 3rd Gameboy but these four games are the first Gameboy games I ever owned and im 30! Anyway I plan on backlight modding one of the Gameboys. I hope it is not to hard.......

Image

Also got FF-X/FF-X2 and NES remix at Fred Meyers. Had a gift card so NES was free. Got Ibara from here off of PaCrappa for a sweet price of $85 and a cup of coffee. (he lives near me so we did a local meet up. Great guy!) It literally looks like he opened the game brand new and handed it to me. I have never seen a used game in such amazing condition.

Built my first PC yesterday, with intent on having a powerful 'emulation rig'.
It's kind of overkill but at least it can handle the heaviest and most advanced stuff.
Also kind of future-proof for that use.

i5 4690k - (4 cores Haswell, 3.5 GHz stock, 3.9 GHz in turbo, up to around 4.5 GHz when OC'd)
Z97 Pc Mate - (MSI mobo)
Hyper 212 EVO - (cooling fan)
GTX 750 Ti - (Gigabyte 2GB with slight factory OC and low profile, also DisplayPort 1.2)
4GB RAM - (dual channel, cas 9, kind of old and not the fastes but was only €20 and enough for emulation for now)
500GB/32Mb HDD - (basic 7200rpm nothing fancy but cheap and enough for now)

RAM and Storage aren't great but I'm not a PC gamer anyway, will upgrade someday.
Anyway it took me a whole day to assemble and install Win 7 Pro 64.
Now it's handling PCSX2, Dolphin and MAME like it's cake. Success ! :D

Well I haven't bought it yet but this is what I'm looking into.

ImageImage

review

It's gonna cost me but I'm getting one of these soon & pairing it with an Atomic Purp GBC. An Everdrive flash cart, which I can store every original GameBoy game ever on. This way I can focus on boxed & sealed copies for my cart collection.

I may go for a modded GBC as well but no more than backlight & battery. According to wiki the original GBC lasted 30 hours on two AAA's, so it has to at least charge by USB considering we have rechargeable alkalines these days.

BTW - This will be my first order. Mercenary Force, but I think I'll go with the Jap version since it's case is so nice. I used to love this game when I was a kid. As far as I know, there's never really been another shmup like it. The closest I can recall is in Gradius V when you choose the positional option mode. Such a cool little game.

Mercenary Force always looked interesting, might try getting into it myself. Currently my only GB shooter is good ol' standby Nemesis II (with Gradius Generation on GBA). As for my recent portable pickups:

Image

Has its rough edges for sure, both technical (breakup+slowdown) and design (random overworld encounters, vanished from its two sequels). But at heart it's more of the same hardcore action platforming I love in the FC sequel, with those excellent wall-cling and hover mechanics. Couldn't resist snapping it up to complete the Makaimura Gaiden trilogy either. :o

Image

Never thought this game would be in my collection again, but then I hadn't replayed it in a decade or so. Absolutely loving the bonus character classes. And as a much more experienced gamer than I was when I last played, the collision and controls are sharp and tight as hell, making the harshly unforgiving difficulty shine. Much easier to enjoy on a big screen too.

Found Midnight Club II unoptimised on PC back in the day (and the first Xbox-style real-time reflections looked worse than fake reflections typical of its time and age). Liked it better on PS2, but having upgraded since then I'm gonna give the PC version another chance.

There mightn't be a better time for me to revisit GTA: San Andreas on PC (unfinished back when).

My new headset arrived today:

Image

http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/r ... sku6510012

It's a universal headset, works via USB with PC and PS3 and has both digital optical and analog audio input for anything else. They even have a cable for plugging into the 360 controller. And it has a 2nd input meant for your phone so you can take a call on it. And you can swap the boom mic for an inline mic with a call answer button on it if you just want to use it with your phone.

They're super comfortable, and build quality is phenomenal as you expect from Plantronics.

Best part is that it's $42.95 on bestbuy.ca right now 8)
