I'd actually found the Blade Runner OST cheesy first time listening to it, then watching the film (theatrically). At the time synthesizers in anything seemed like a foreign body to me, mind, and although it's nothing to be proud of, it was up to Music for the Jilted Generation to break the ice. All pretty random, but it was before the internet.

Cinderella (Branagh & Ferretti)

An excellent script, rather faithful to the old Disney cartoon (maybe too much, with whole scenes looking a bit childish and spectacular), but also miraculously focused on a very harsh fairytale tone.
Cinderella seducing the Prince is the whole point; in the ball scenes everything superfluous disappears, leaving only the overwhelming power of sexual attraction and the eternal archetypes of the Maiden and the Boy in place of the actual characters.
Cinderella's virtue is central to the plot, important for the story's meaning (does Cinderella deserve her success? Does suffering have a purpose?) and a great opportunity for depicting a truly good character with some depth.
The conflict (or lack thereof) between the protagonist and a family of assholes is the third main aspect of the story; the stepmother and the stepsisters are excellent exaggerations of uncomfortably realistic selfishness and psychological violence.

The typical save the world plot, but filled with awesome stuff. Will watch again with a big smile.

Went in for a total recall of

Total Recall (1991)

Still an utterly fantastic Martian adventure that goes at breakneck pace and doesn't let up. Verhoeven doesn't manage to equal Robocop's clarity of vision, straying willingly into sci-fi pulp fiction, but he still does so with the utmost control and grace.

The use of full scale miniatures and practical effects from Bottin get more wonderful with each passing year and the casting is impeccable. Ironside's evil face and Sharon Stone's sex on legs are perfect counterparts to Arnold's brauny bewildered Quaid on an intergalactic adventure.

Special mention to that transition from a screen full of rat blood to the Martian sky and an incoming space transport - amazing - and of course two of the best one liners that are neck and neck for the hall of fame:

"Look who's talking", and "See you at the party Richter" the perfect comedy companions to visceral and uncompromising Dutch directed bloodshed.

This movie must be close to the top spot for collateral damage: every bystander is a target. Still the greatest human shield extravaganza when that guy takes about 300 rounds on the escalator.

Wonderful stuff.

The new one that came out in 2012 really doesn't compare to the original, nonetheless its still worth a watch if your interested

Yeah, the original score was by Goldsmith and they put that back in the DC.

Sounds kind of horrible. Their soundtracks are usually fantastic. One of these days i'm going to watch Thief.

Into the Woods

Good but not outstanding songs (many reprises, variations and evolutions of "Into the Woods") supported by a cast of good singers; remarkably humorous at times, but with an unusually bizarre plot in which people unexpectedly die and disappear.
Fairytale sources are building blocks for a brutal fantasy settings with witches, giants, magical beans, etc. rather than important stories to tell, but the symbolic aspects of going into the woods are managed very well.

Dunno about the dream but the little I recall happens in an apartment building or offices. At night.
It's really a guy in front of a mirror ripping 'balls' of dead flesh from his dead-like grey face.

Could be but I can tell there was no 'zom-B movie' feeling to it.
For a few minutes it seems like your average 80's drama or whatever (I think I've seen a woman wearing a silky-red top) then this guy stands in front of the mirror doing his nasty corpse face-ripping job like it's perfectly natural.

The state-of-art welding tech shown in Thief is spot-on (considering that it had a proper 1981 theatrical release stateside). I've seen Thief numerous times and it never gets old.

Age of Ultron was in need of an editor. Or at least someone to slap Joss around. All characters are snarky in nearly every scene, and technobabble is usually replaced with dumb Whedon-isms. That includes Ultron himself, who is only saved from his awful writing by being James Spader. Also the movie opens with an egregiously bad CG action scene. Other than those problems, it's basically the same movie as the first Avengers. There's more character development to go around this time, but thanks to the poor dialogue, I still think it's a step down overall.

Kingsman

So...Kick-Ass in 007 style ? Why some seem to believe outrageous ott scenes and vulgarity make interesting is beyond me.
What about Kingsman feels like parody ? I wonder.
So many things are misplaced and not even remotely funny nor impressive in that movie it feels actually inferior to Kick-Ass, which is more consistent in its wtf nature, saving it from absolute mediocrity (well barely).

Also, has Vaughn something against Sweden in particular or what ? I mean the PM is an happy genocide supporter and the Princess is a whore who likes anal ?

I preferred Kingsman to Kick Ass, by a marginal margin. Strangely thst doesn't make any of your criticisms invalid - I can see why some may take it that way - but I was surprisingly entertained by it.

However some bias is involved because I quite enjoyed the Britishness of it all. I thought the humour was sharper than Kick Ass too.

Saw Avengers 2. Real fun flick, dense and cleverly put together. Much better than the first.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

While well made, it's seriously inferior to the first Avengers film because of its plot. Instead of the meaningful subject of getting unusually disparate heroes to collaborate and become Avengers, this time there's a mere episode, an instance of a stressful saving the world job.
Ultron is a grotesque monster of the week, less interesting (to begin with, less human) than the average tragic villain from Batman or Spider-Man; "Tony Stark made a mistake" is one of the lamest character origin histories ever. (Vision's origin history, "Ultron made a mistake", is marginally better because some characters are involved.)

like everyone else, I just saw Avengers: Age of Ultron
It was okay. Much weaker than the first -- just as long, but with less of note actually happening. Ultron's lines were maybe a bit too snarky, his motivation uninteresting. Kind of disappointed. It's not a bad movie, but it's just not "wow".
Hawkeye was pretty much the best part of the whole movie, and it still had decent action.
A very solid 3/5.
