Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
AmiAmi was selling the LE for 96ish U.S. dollars, that's already over 30 off of what play-asia was selling it for.

My LE also showed up today and wasn't served with the expected £22 customs charge which was a nice surprise.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Who the hell at Cave decided that letting credit feeders onto the leaderboards was a sane thing? If it just uploaded the score of the 1st credit played it would be OK but now anyone can credit feed through the game, get a decent end game bonus, and place higher than a legitimate player.
I'm top ten on 1.5 non-max Ultra and there's at least 2 people higher up in the top ten who have been credit feeding. Whilst this isn't exactly the most played mode it's still a pain to know cheats (albeit it not necessarily intentional ones) are ranked higher than I am.
Also, assuming you have the skills to 1 life clear the entire game, would you earn a better score by suiciding on the first 3 enemies, then playing a 2nd credit where you collect the Max Power Up item. I'm sure this would let you ramp up the multiplier much higher on the 1st couple of stages than if you played properly.
It just seems like a stupid oversight that could be easily remedied - almost as stupid as making 1.5 mode a DLC.
EDIT - also, not having your existing high score on screen during score attack runs is a pain. It always defaults to the PCBs high score everytime you exit out of the game.

Really? I haven't been paying attention to my score yet, but that's fuckin' dumb.05pro wrote:EDIT - also, not having your existing high score on screen during score attack runs is a pain. It always defaults to the PCBs high score everytime you exit out of the game.

Hey, anyway it seems my xbox doesn't want to recognise my 1.5 dlc card code >.<
Earlier on someone mentioned updating from the disc, does anyone know how to do that?
The main reason I bought this game was to play 1.5, this is more than slightly frustrating

You are logged into the JP Marketplace right? That's the only way you're going to get 1.5. You could try redeeming it through the Website, but otherwise no dice. The on-disc update is just the dash update.Illyrian wrote:Hey, anyway it seems my xbox doesn't want to recognise my 1.5 dlc card code >.<

Think I'm giving up on my God Mode 1cc. Haven't played the game in a few weeks. Just tired of looking at those same levels.
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
I was hoping to see a lot of people playing and updating the Mushi leaderboards with new scores but it seems everyone (understandably so) is just playing 1.5.
Maybe I will order a copy since I'm not going to be purchasing the PCB in this lifetime most likely.

If ver. 1.5 had been on the disc, I would have bought this. Foolish move.

I've got a Mushi PCB and sold my Xbox 360 a long time ago, didn't want to own another 360 but... still going to be way cheaper than the damn 1.5 PCB.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Everyone tells me the original Mushi is so much nicer when you've got the PCB. I do wonder how much my luke-warm attitude towards the game is due to the so-so PS2 port. After all, I really love Futari, especially its color palette.
I heard the colors on ver. 1.5 have been improved. Is it more cheerful/playful like Futari?

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
PS2 game was flat out ugly while the PCB was remarkably better looking. The 360 port does the PCB justice, looks quite nice in HD.
I own both the PCB and the port. I USE to own the PS2 port but ditched it asap when I got the PCB.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
It is on the disc. The DLC is merely an unlock code (the file size is only 1.87 MB).professor ganson wrote:If ver. 1.5 had been on the disc, I would have bought this. Foolish move.

Sounds like a distinction without a difference (for me). I don't care about hard drive space. I just can't be bothered with doing the Japanese account thing.Kiken wrote:It is on the disc. That's unnecessarily large for just an unlock code. I'll bet all of the extra assets for 1.5 are already on the disc, at least.Kiken wrote:It is on the disc. Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Forgive me if someone's already mentioned it, but according to this link Mushi HD sold a little over 5,000 copies in its first week, just enough (for whatever it's worth) to sneak into the Top 20.

Hmm, outsold by a game named "My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute Portable Can’t Possibly Continue". Gotta love Japan.

How does that compare to their past ports during their first week after release?

Yeah, the PSP rules the charts. That's a cringe-worthy title, by the way. I've read just a bit about the game, and you can be sure that one won't be acceptable to the US market.Jeneki wrote:Hmm, outsold by a game named "My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute Portable Can’t Possibly Continue". I had only played the PS2 version, and it looked pretty ugly to me. I haven't played the PCB, but this version is VERY pretty. Definitely more comparable to Futari. Actually, some of it looks nicer in ways.professor ganson wrote:Everyone tells me the original Mushi is so much nicer when you've got the PCB. Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Yeah, it's larger than your average flag-checker file. They probably did something odd, like making the DLC an executable, so it's more like downloading a patch.nZero wrote:That's unnecessarily large for just an unlock code. Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
That seems pretty bad. I'm honestly rather shocked that its sales are that low. I would have expected 2~3 times that amount. Maybe the existence of the PS2 port limited the sales potential, or maybe Mushihime-sama isn't as powerful a franchise as I thought it was...Or maybe Cave has "Guitar Hero'd" the shoot'em up market...BulletMagnet wrote:Forgive me if someone's already mentioned it, but according to this link Mushi HD sold a little over 5,000 copies in its first week, just enough (for whatever it's worth) to sneak into the Top 20.
