Refund being smooth and successful is the best experience I had with them, which is better than horror stories I have heard about some people not receiving their refunds.

We have a solid date in August and I've waited this long. If they miss this one though, I guess I'm out.

It's only the regular edition. Wonder if the collector's edition will be 2025...

I get the feeling that SLG is wondering the same thing. Maybe it's more fun to run a business this way - everything is a surprise.

I was watching Jaimers' 1CC run (RayStorm) to get an idea on how not to die in some places...but i noticed that the music is different...is it something he did when he edited the video, or is there a way to have a second OST?
or does the RayStorm X RayCrisis version have a different OST?

In the audio options you can select the arcade music or the arranged soundtracks made for the ps1 ports, basically.

Is there any reason not to use AutoFire?
And how exactly do the 42 maps work in RayCrisis?
Also... in RayCrisis how do you unlock the WR-03?

PS: can the color of the ship be changed? (P1/P2).
YES ^

I got a surprise delivery of Ray’z Arcade Chronology Limited Edition (PS4) this morning. I didn't see a tracking number for this package, maybe it's somewhere in spam or my provider ate it, i'm not going to look for it.

So if your're still waiting for your normal copy from Strictly it should arrive fairly soon.

For those who like Raycrisis's OST, there is an indie homage/cover album called In a Lavender Moment. The remixes/covers tend to blend genres even more, but I suggest "07 - Her will" as a syncopated mix of Samba and electronic music (I cannot think of a better description). I think that it should be hard to find physical copies of it, so the usual disclaimers apply.

Fun fact: a Japanese colleague of mine told me about this album, as he bought the copy back in 2007. He was actually surprised to know that the Ray series was known outside Japan, to be honest. I explained him briefly about shmups being niche etc. etc. He was definitely surprised to know that I could recognise Kawamoto Tamayo and Zuntata's names more in general (for stereotypical reasons, so I will skip mentioning them).

Another Fun Fact: the remixed version of original release of the Rayforce OST is by a very young Yukihiro Fukutomi, Abstract/Deep House legend. It turns out the Fukutomi has created a lot of remixes for videogames. Some physical editions of the "Ray's trilogy" apparently include a vinyl version of the 1994 OST, which should be worth getting for the cover alone. Does anyone have more info on this vinyl release?

I have that reissue vinyl from Ray'z... and got it signed by Tamayo lol. I do not have a record player, of course. Not home now, but I'll go take a look at it when I get back.

I will propose you for Sainthood  The description says that you can download the album via a key, so I guess that the vinyl prints can be safely stored away for preservation purposes. I admit that I listen to any of my vinyl records once per year for this reason (vinyl should be delicate, etc. etc.). Thanks a lot, there is no hurry whatsoever for me but I may have starry eyes when I see Tamayo's signature .

The fateful day is here. Anyone actually get shipping confirmation? I'm assuming that's a hard no, but I'm willing to be surprised.

I had shipping confirmation a few days ago and it arrived this morning.
Seems like R-Gear had some serious potential. Oh well…

My copy came on monday with the shipping information appearing by email on the same day!
Glad to finally get it.
I've mostly drifted away from physical now (Arcade Archives series convincing me primarily) so I don't see myself buying muchl/any more from SLG or others now. Other than Cave releases... and if someone ever does a Thunder Force compilation.

I have my shipping notification as well, but this is the LAST item I am preordering from SLG. I prefer LRG where the wait is only a year, not yearS.

Someone poked them at gamescom since they were on the floor and wrote their impressions on a german forum.

https://forum-nexgam-de.translate.goog/ ... ost2694338

TLDR: No Switch games were ordered. SLG did restructuring and had to get money because their parent company was being stingy with it. They're doign PS4 first because it's faster and they hope it'll rebuild trust (lol)

seems most of the money went into manufacturing Iron Meat to ship out later this month, so i guess that's where the Rayz money ended up. A Contra clone. Joy.

Why the fuck are they prioritising a new game no-one asked for over and above games people have been waiting YEARS for? If they want to rebuild trust then why are they doing the exact opposite?

Amazon have Rayz import... might cut my losses on that one, but there's no other way to get Dariusburst CS on Switch.

If i had to hazard a guess, it was the only way any new company would even bother partnering with them, and making it so it’s in-hand (they already have the copies iirc) with no CEs *should* make it a fool proof thing.

Except you know. It’s a contra clone nobody knows anything about (could be good, mid or shit), and betting the company on it seems insanely stupid with how the limprint market as a whole is losing appeal in recent years. If it was a requested shmup or something i think people would be more inclined to support vs a game that isnt even out yet.

They fact they didnt even prioritize shadow of the ninja reborn is telling, too.

Edit: oh yea i also like when asked if any switch games were being made the PR guy for SLG deadass linked to their in-hand switch inventory, as if they couldn’t say “plz buy more from us and we can make what you really want” https://www.reddit.com/r/LimitedPrintGames/s/zwhuKh0vhn

lol, living that eternal optimism. Have given up on these (literally) broke jokers. This was one of my most wanted games but don't even think I'll buy a copy on eBay at this point, I'll just stick with digital.

No comment about SLG, but specific to Iron Meat... I think it does look pretty good! Has been on my radar for quite a while, ever since seeing a glowing preview on one of Shmup Junkie's videos about a year and a half ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLMaX6dSFmE. I tend to respect and share Shmup Junkie's tastes on this kind of game, and I ended up enjoying all of the other indie action games featured in that same video: Gunvein, Moonrider, Prison City, Shinobi non Grata.

Not sure if I'm willing to deal with SLG any more, and certainly not for pre-orders. Maybe if they have a Switch cart IN STOCK I'll pick one up, but if not I probably will check the game out via its download version. It's telling though, that people actually seem more skeptical of Iron Meat because of its association with the now tainted SLG brand.
