I think Edmond either went on something or off something near the beginning of the summer. He's been here for years, but only recently started coming across as a 'little' off. Talk to your doctor Edmond. Either what they have you on now is not working for you or whatever they took you off was working.

I've had friends on anti-pychotics/anti-depressants, and the way you are acting lately definitely points towards a med's issue.

If I am way off base, apologies. Not picking on you, or trying to say you are crazy, but I've seen this before and thought I should say something. Seriously though, lately you have come across as rather unbalanced.

Nothing to read here folks, just another black person shot dead because they accidentally wandered onto some white dude's porch looking for help.

I don't know about yaoi fanfiction, but there IS a Columbine RPG. I actually had to follow a download link from Encyclopedia Dramatica's article to get it, since the official page seems to be down.

... Ummmm... while searching for that, I did in fact find Columbine Fanfiction. And yeah, some of it is yaoi.... ummm, have fun. I'm outta here until the next page.

"Lady looking for help gets shotgun to the face instead" isn't even news, it's a WeeklyVice footnote.

Pliz check the wikipedia notability standards. If there's not a celebrity involved or a killcount of over 10, it's non-notable. A spree killing, where four or more people are killed, is a daily mandatory event here.

"For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday."

Yeah, it's pretty old hat. There was a lot of drama when it was kicked out of, and then put back into, a game competition a decade ago. I figured everyone here knew about it already, being that like half of us make shitty games and wanna make non-shitty ones some day.

Gun argument aside, he was a good-looking young chap who was filthy rich, so he must have had seriously shitty people skills.

I thought a new one happened over in England or something, since this one is only notable to the victims, Miscers (who are aware, and called the guy a serial killer before he even said he was going to do anything. The guy who told him to "get out of Auschwitz mode" was great, since it can be taken in two ways: stop being so racist/eat a sandwich.) and Hunger Games movie fans. Otherwise completely unremarkable. The very next day another spree kill happened on the east coast (and probably another ~dozen since according to the stats), but that guy and his victims were probably too black and too poor to qualify as newsworthy.

From his likes on his Youtube account, it did appear there was an avenue to reduce his forever-aloneless open to him: he appeared to be an anime and Pokemon fan. Instead of being angry at other people for having friends, he could have tried working his way into irl animu cliques or something. Of course I'm of two minds on that, and am kind of relieved overall he died a virgin: why would I ever want some innocent person to get into a relationship with a murderer? This was the same psycho who listened the entire time his sister was copulating in the next room. Even if he had sex, he'd have probably killed the poor girl after the inevitable breakup anyway. Huge enormous douchebag. (And of course the average cute animu girl would not have met his standards of "White blonde and in the upper 15% percentile of aesthetics.")

Having scanned the internet thoroughly on the topic already, the best observations from us clucking chickens were:

* It was too easy to believe his internet posts were fake trolling to make the REAL Elliot Rodger look bad. It's some really racist and destructive thoughts, in his posts.

and

"The validation that comes from being wanted is what is important. You don't think sex is important because you're already wanted and respected by others.

For those who have never felt that way, or don't feel that way about themselves, sex becomes a totemic thing. To achieve it means you have been accepted and wanted. Not having it means that you're not. Hiring a prostitute doesn't achieve that."

Oh, and his family pulled back the "autistic" claim almost immediately. "Shitty people skills" doesn't begin to describe it. He thought he was worthy of putting his wiener into people because of his BMW, $500 shirts, and his gorgeous half-white self. Like that bit in Arrested Development where GOB tries to make people feel inferior by talking about his $5,000 suit. Except psychotically serious.

(Oh, and one of the creepy internet fridge moments is that someone posted a JenniferLawrenceOK.gif in response to his crazy ramblings. It's pretty likely they met briefly.)

The "why don't they just rent a hooker" thing comes up a lot with the forever alone otaku who spend $thousands on AKB48 tickets just to shake their hand or creepy stalkers like that Debuman guy withi his maid victim. Or Steve Urkel.

Man, fuck Steve Urkel. He had the perfect woman in Myra Monkhouse - three times better looking than Laura, smarter, more in common with Steve, a million times more fun instead of being a grumpyfish, and then he dumps her. And then she dies in real life. And then he cheats on his dead ex-girlfriend with a girl he's managed to break down with decades of stalking and brain washing. Argh.

Yeah, sorry I didn't think about posting the Elliot Rodger thing to this forum. All over the news memorial day weekend. The weirdness of it is how public his intentions were and how well he documented his intentions, but most of all, that he was just some dumb superficial kid who hadn't figured out that sex isn't the pinnacle of existence.

Weirder than the self-made videos were some of his posts on forums where he reminds me of some of the brats that turn up on every forum and eventually get banned. It was enough to make me pause and think I've probably indirectly known someone just as messed up and just as capable of doing this.

OK, I drive a BMW, have been spurned by women all my life, much longer than this Rodger loser, and I own firearms. Am I going to be on some watch list now? Yeah, I have pretty shitty people skills, but I try to work on that bit by bit. Eventually I might be able to trick somebody into thinking I'm a decent human being :P

So Skykid how about those first three guys who were knifed to death?

They were special needs students.

If Rodgers tried to use a knife for his outdoors rampage, I wouldn't bet on him being able to rack up any more fatalities, but even this pathetic weirdo could figure out the relative danger of a knife compared to a gun.

I hope you're not implying that murder of special needs students, or murder of any innocent by any means other than shooting is somehow less of a tragedy than murder by a firearm.

Disclaimer: I am a gun owner, but I consider myself to be rather middle-of-the-road when it comes to firearms law. Some of the ultra-right-wing rants I see from my fellow Canadians really make me Image

Admittedly, quite likely the last 3 fatalities may not have happened, had Rodger not had a gun. A death count of 3 is objectively better than a death count of 6. But to me, this is the clearest indication that the gun is only a part of the problem, yet many people seem eager to push it as the only problem. This guy was out to kill and did it readily without a gun.

In my opinion, a knife used in a very crowded indoor environment could do a lot of damage before anyone even knows what is going on, while everyone would be WTF at the first gunshot. No reason why Rodger wouldn't have gone indoors instead if he didn't have a gun.

I don't have a problem with civilian ownership of firearms in general, but I do think more stringent checks should be performed for the legal acquisition. "Don't let the public own guns" is the knee-jerk response, but "Don't let whackjobs like Rodger own guns" is a subset of that response that should be sufficient in reducing this kind of incident. The difficulty with this then is the onus of background checking falls on the dealer at the point of sale, and I don't know what attitudes towards this are in the USA, since I have never bought a gun there. In Canada at least, individuals must be licensed to own firearms, buying a handgun is a major PITA and each transaction needs to be personally approved by a provincial office before the dealer can release the handgun, but I have to admit that once licensed, buying a rifle or shotgun is frighteningly easy. (and we can own short-barreled shotguns, nyaa-nyaaaa)

I'm telling you a major factor in why he was able to kill three people with a knife. People whose physical or mental ability is substantially impaired are obviously vulnerable to attacks that the average aren't.

As far as stabbing in a crowded indoor environment, there was just such an incident in the US several weeks ago, with zero fatalities.
