DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (Spring 2013)
They should have bitten the bullet and released it as a download title in the West, then they could have at least made some money out of it. Instead you can guarantee that they will sit on it in the hope of selling it to a Western publisher further down the line, which seems very unlikely given how poorly the games after Deathsmiles have sold.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (Spring 2013)
The talk about the "simultaneous multi-region" release has gone stone cold. RSG aren't touching it (certainly not on release unless they are going to announce very late) and in those conditions only two realities exist.
Either the game gets a delayed RSG release
or
The game gets no EU/US release at all.
Maybe CAVE can chuck it out on XBL, but that's not exactly been a fruitful avenue for them either.
It's definitely of the style of shmups they can sell in the west, but without RSG you've got close to zeo chance of seeing it loacalised.

Didn't RSG say they are done with Cave games? AK and DS vastly underperformed.

Apart from Guwange and Nin2Jump (both XBLA) they haven't released any sales figures for Games on Demand titles.DrTrouserPlank wrote:Maybe CAVE can chuck it out on XBL, but that's not exactly been a fruitful avenue for them either.

They didn't even localize Deathsmiles II X, how much could it really have cost them to put it on Games on Demand?

No joke, a famous chain of stores in my city who offered different flashing and modding tools and their instalation got a lawsuit and won using basically those arguments.

Whether or not they officially said it there's certainly no noise coming from their direction and no activity from their reps on this forum... and without them the chance of a EU release is zero.MauJustice wrote:Didn't RSG say they are done with Cave games? AK and DS vastly underperformed.
As I say, with the previous release of DFK in EU and the style of the game there is potential for the game to be sold to the Eu market, but .. ya know... there's a lot of risk. Buying the license, certifying the content, printing the materials... it's a LOT of expense and the potential payout is limited. If I knew the exact figures and margins involved I doubt I'd get involved when looking at it from purely a business sense.

So... is it pretty much a given we're not seeing a Western release? :/
How hard is it to get an Xbox 360 modded so that it's no longer region locked? Fuck online shit, if I never went online again I'd be fine with that.

Deathsmiles II X has been on the US Games on Demand store for ages. It's the JPN version but it runs fine on US/JPN machines.MauJustice wrote:They didn't even localize Deathsmiles II X, how much could it really have cost them to put it on Games on Demand?

Exactly, my point is what's the risk of making them available to the West as downloads?bcass wrote:Deathsmiles II X has been on the US Games on Demand store for ages. Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (Spring 2013)
Risk isn't the issue. What you have to understand is that content is approved for the US as an area and a single entity. Content for Europe has to be approved on a country by country basis according to individual countries' laws. As such licensing and getting approval for content in "Europe" is a massive pain in the ass and massively expensive and time-consuming.MauJustice wrote:Exactly, my point is what's the risk of making them available to the West as downloads?bcass wrote:Deathsmiles II X has been on the US Games on Demand store for ages. America is a country; Europe is a collection of countries.. each with their own laws and peculiarities.

I've came to the conclusion that TEAM XECUTER DEMON is the best way to RGH, that way you can Dual Boot your online FW and your regionfree goodness.
And well, now my logic enters it's usual usage:
They don't want to release the game so that i can buy it and play it with the console i can buy here = they don't deserve my baka gaijin euros = i'll just pirate it.
Also i mostly play games for their music, so OST is the least i could expect.
also what is Games on Demand?

I'll actually gladly buy the artbook off you for money. The only games i'd actually Like to own the artbook of are this and DFK, not fucking GT5 and WOW collectors edition. :/Astraea FGA Mk. I wrote:soundtrack I will never listen to and a piece of paper with art on it.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (Spring 2013)
I find it fascinating that modders have found such a loophole to keep in the law, this makes me 100% more interested in using it. (I still wouldn't put it passed the UK govt from legistrating against such devices later down the line though.) I was just looking at dual boot system where at a flick of a switch select modded and unmodded to connect to live.
I still wouldn't trust handing my Slim 360 to modders as I have no skills with soldiering to do it myself. So I'll wait until I have the funds to buy a 2nd console.
It might go some way to explain why CAVE never bothered putting out DS2X in Europe.
Not that expect Japanese devs to be lovers of digital download on the 360, considering MS scams them by paying them in dollars and pocketing the difference in exchange rates.

Don't tell me you don't have GoD in your country just like XBLIG is only in a few select countries. If so thats lame.Pallerå wrote: also what is Games on Demand?

so that's what an intro looks like when you can only afford seven seconds of animation
Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (Spring 2013)
And then all of my snoring happened. What was with the random poorly shot, incredibly low-quality gameplay footage in the middle of it?
And I still want to know if I'll get to play this god damn fucking thing. At this point I'd be down with an iPhone release of the game. Or SOMETHING.

Yeah, I was very surprised to see what is almost certainly off-screen footage of the game.trap15 wrote:Glad I'm not the only one who thought that looked like a shaky cellphone video.Giest118 wrote:What was with the random poorly shot, incredibly low-quality gameplay footage in the middle of it?

CAVE disabled comments which is probably a wise move.
The trailer was well... like a generic moeblob anime, but I don't blame them, I'm sure they would love to drop the horseshit if they could. I just blame the general public who are fucking vapid sheep.
That's both the moeblob otaku' and western gamers who are just as bad when it comes to liking games for shallow reasons, Look at all the attention Caladrius has recieved on Siliconera just because it has Suzuhito Yasuda doing pervy character art. And also how localisations of Deathsmiles recieved 100 times the You Tube coverage compared to Akia Katana and DFK.
Ah well I'm sure the next trailer CAVE do will be back to their normal level of awesome and the game will be great.
I think ppl are forgetting AKS teaser trailer. Everyone thought CAVE were making an eroge

Reminds me of RSG's Resurrection trailer as that had the same shaky cam close up shots.
