Are there command line switches or some other way to skip the initial dialog box?

This happens to me in Touhou games too, generally when I'm doing really well and am near the end of the game.

Has anyone been able to fix it without restarting the program? It seems very odd to me that I only encounter that problem in doujin games and never with emulators or mainstream PC titles.
Try a different USB port, try unplugging your other USB devices, try making sure there's no programs stealing your game's focus.

What are the chances of being able to get a copy of this shipped to Australia? Are they producing any more copies or am I out of luck?

I think rancor might still have some copies left. Sadly, he doesn't come back until August. Drop him a message just in case. And don't forget to order the soundtrack if it's also available. Blast it full volume to annoy your neighbours (I know I do it from time to time, Stage 5 theme is glorious, mean serious fucking business).

I checked other sources and seems most ran out of copies... And that was the second print. Well, one can hope the guy will give life signs and reprint it.

I got one shipped through Rancor's shop by EMS if I recall correctly, using Paypal, and it all went down without a hitch, and I live in Australia.

There was a second printing with the updated version on the disc that includes replay saves and some minor graphical adjustments, not sure after that.

I think Rancor's on holiday at the moment though so you might have to look around.

yup - sorry folks, I'm on holiday at the moment in Texas. Will be back in Japan on August 24th, and orders can continue from there.
In the meantime, watch some wacky Japanese-themed videos in my sig.

rancor, where in Texas are you? FYI, there is a great arcade cab distributor in Houston called "Joystix" that has machines from the early days, to relatively current ones like Terminator: Salvation and House of the Dead 4. Next to nothing of shoot 'em up nature, though. If you're in that area, definitely give them a look.

I'm in Ft. Worth. There's a massive arcade / arcade parts distributor here that I went to on Saturday night... it was PACKED! Its a flat-rate to enter, and all games (there's about 100 cabs) are set to free play. The guy has several candy cabs for sale if anyones interested.. I may pick up a few myself instead of transporting from Japan.

Seems that Eurotaku still has the game in stock.

Question for other owners of this game: Do you ever find that this game crashes on you? I've had the game crash to desktop a couple times now.

Additionally, do you ever have problems with replays going missing/info not getting saved?

Trying to figure out if this stuff is specific to my setup, or if the game just has some bugs.

I've only played for maybe 3 hours so my experience with the game certainly isn't the end all be all. But I have had zero issues. No crashes. No data issues. I run it on an HP laptop with an AMD Fusion A-series processor and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

My only wish is that the game would support higher resolutions. Mainly because my TV has a bit of overscan in 480p but not at any higher resolutions I have tried. Odd...

No issues here either - I've put well over 30 hours into this game and it's never crashed or been quirky in the least.

oh - and I still have many copies in stock if anyone is still searching for a copy. Check the sig below!

I managed to cause the final boss bug and it's variations deliberately a few times, just because it's very challenging and fun.

Hmmm, it sounds like it's stable in 32bit operating systems, but I would like to hear more from people running it in 64bit Windows 7. Anyone played it extensively in that OS?

I played it extensively (around 30 h+) in Win 7 64bit. No problems here at all.

On a semi-related issue, when I get my new PC which will have windows 7, should I go for 32 bit or 64 bit?

Your processor will be 64 bit, like they all are nowadays. So if you run a 32 bit OS you will not get your moneys worth as far as potential processing power goes. Also pretty much all the older stuff is backward compatible and most new stuff will get 64 bit builds. Also you can get more ram and make use of it. 32 bit Windows can only use something a bit under 4 gigs. With 64 bit Win7 it depends on the edition you have, the Starter and Home Basic ones support up to 8GB, Home Premium 16GB and the other 3 top tier editions all support up to 192GB, not that any home customer would ever need that.

I'm getting a 3 core processor and 4 GB ram, but i might add some more if stuff were to turn out slow/insufficient.
But thank you, now i know which version to get, and I'm hopefully getting home premium or ultimate

The main difference between 32-bit and 64-bit is that 32-bit Windows only supports up to a maximum of about 3.6GB of RAM, so if you have more than that in your system it will be useless unless you're using 64-bit Windows. With the retail versions of Windows 7 there are both 32-bit and 64-bit discs in the box, so be sure to use the 64-bit disk. If you're buying a PC with windows preinstalled, chances are it'll be running the 64-bit version out of the box.

Finally got my copy of Crimson Clover version 1.00...what a fun little doujin shmup indeed. Will Yotsubane release this on any other platforms? A true arcade PCB version of CC with tate would sell like hotcakes (mostly to Japanese game center operators & the hard-core arcade PCB hobbyists, of course). What would it take to get such a real PCB deal conversion done (aside from going the Ultracade UVC route)?

Five years in the making and it definitely has it in spades.

I'd prefer a Steam release, maybe through Carpe Fulgur or Rockin' Android, and it'd bring in far more money to the developers. Maybe we should ask them if such a thing is possible.
