2009 is going to be an amazing year for shooting games on the Xbox 360!

I cannot wait to finally have my own Ketsui to sink unlimited time into it! Definitely in my Cave top 3! :D

I was considering to buy DDPDOJ on the PS2 but had held off because of DDPDOJBLX.

My excitement builds!

I would love to play Ketsui...but I don't think I am going to buy a Japanese 360 anytime soon. Not until I see Mushifutari and ESPGaluda II on 360.

It's worth it, there are other shmups on 360 that are worth getting as well. DOJ BL and Death Smiles also being ported.

you buying a j-360 and then buying ddp and ketsui will help the chances of mushi futari, etc. being ported. vote with your money.

I'll definitely import Ketsui and Death Smiles. If they're region-locked, I'll break down and get a modchip as well.

Just like buying a dozen digital copies of Ikaruga on XBLA will give Treasure incentive to put Radiant Silvergun up for download. While we're at it, buying a few copies of Halo 3 will get them to bring Mountain Dew Game Fuel back.

Whatever magical chip you're thinking of won't work.

Go ahead and try your mod chip.

Some people just insist on learning things the hard way.

As I keep mentioning whenever this issue comes up, it *is* possible to change the region of any 360 console, but it isn't a simple process as you need to flash an onboard chip:

It can be done, and it has. Yes, its a pain and requires knowledge

Can only be done on certain kernal 360's. Its not worth it with RRD. Keep the waranty

It can be done on any 360, regardless of kernal version, however, you need to install an older kernal beforehand, then reinstall the latest kernal after the flash.

So do these games have a set release date yet, or is it still "sometime next year"?

Well, fuck me sideways. :/ Thanks for the info, I guess I'll just wait until I can find a Japanese 360 for <$150. Will probably order Ketsui soon after its release though, since by the time I get a J-360, the game will be out of print and ridiculously expensive. (Sort of how my copies of Mushi, Ibara, and Triggerheart Exelica have mysteriously become worth over $150 each...)

mushi, ibara and THE are going for over 150.oo each!?!?!
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Honestly, I have a feeling that if it sells really well, Microsoft Japan will issue a Platinum release reprint a few months later. After all, if something is selling well and potentially moving more systems, why would they limit its production?

I think that's a rather unrealistic expectation.

It seems like every X360 game that moved any amount of copies in Japan got a Platinum Release in no time at all. Somehow I see Otomedius ending up on that list after 6 months to a year or so. Things like Ketsui or Raiden IV I'm not so sure about, though.

It's sample box, not sample game, unless I'm missing something. ;)
