Didn't get drunk again last night, and only drank one drinky. I think I burned myself out, which is probably a good thing. Now I can remember the anime and games that I play har har har.

E is crazy. We got pills called green 007's, we took 2 each. Pretty sure they were cut with speed and maybe a hallucinogen.

Drove around town while it was creeping then came home and chilled in my parents hot tub, listened to some tunes, smoked a bit while peaking. Tried playing DOJ (I like to compare thing I do in a un-altered state to the altered).


I took 200 mg of 5-HTP (restores serotonin) before I went to bed at 2:30am and woke up at 10 this morning feeling great. No back end (yet) I expect one though in the coming days as I have not eaten meat in 3 years and my tyrosine levels are pretty low. Almonds and bike rides, please save me.

Riding a good buzz as of now that came out of no where while I was packing stuff. Made a beastly gin & tonic and I guess that kinda helped. Gotta work in 7 hours. Bloody hell. Okay, yeah, I sometimes just over-evaluate films and such and just assume I don't "get it", when generally I do anyway.

I think the horse is just a horse--at least in hedgehog.

The themes in the film though are old and universal. Fear of the dark, the wild and the unknown, and the passage through terror past those fears make for a sort of rite of passage. Moving from the closed space of what is, and what is safe, to the new and unknown where the unknown can be fearsome but wonderful. That's definitely the ending of hedgehog!

Meanwhile, I'm having a double bastard. I think it's my favorite beer.

Monoke better I can understand. Both (talking Nausicaa manga) have some of the same underlying themes (war, different view points and people, life, etc) Nausicaa for me is perfect because...I dunno, it kinda touches some inside feelings and philosophy I hold (that sounds REALLY stupid and I hate drunken philosophy) but no, really; plus, it kinda helps I have been obsessed with Entomology and the like since the age of 3, plus I have a lame otaku crush on Nausicaa really bad. Urmmm DANZA! I love me some Black Metal. It's funny, I always actually despised it during that period in my life, and for some reason I got older and started loving it. Mainly because my musical taste is probably (too) open minded anymore. Yeah, silly people, but I just love the music. I really enjoy music that creates atmosphere, and I think, especially early, black metal does this. Pretty sure I passed out on the floor momentarily listening to Darkthrone last night ahhhhh haaa. I feel like Mononoke is better constructed and just, in general, works better. On the other hand, Mononoke is sort of an unofficial rebook of Nausicaa anyway (as you point out.) That said, the hand drawn animation and coloring of Nausicaa is better than Mononoke--and that blu ray should be coming soon!

I have all the equipment to brew. Have a fair amount of hops and a big bag of crystal malt, but I always dreg it. I bought all the equipment this time last year, but still haven't brewed.

Easiest way to get started is just buy a boxed kit that includes all the grains, extract and hops all pre-measured out. Nothing wrong with starting simple. Just avoid that Mr. Beer crap. Fresh grains, hops and yeast are absolutely key!

My local beer shop offered a 'beer 101' class that was also helpful. Also, anytime you get a chance to brew with other brewers, do it. You will learn a ton everytime you brew!

Again, if your tastes in beer are just crappy cheap yellow beers, there's no reason really to brew, but if you like craft beers, you will start saving money (even with extract brewing), plus designing your own beers is very satisfying.

Yeah. The recipe I'm intending to use is two cans of liquid light malt extract. 250g of crystal malt pre-boil and Cascade and Centenial hops, dry hopped with Cascade (if memory serves correct). I'm probably going to do an all Amarillo brew at some point as well.

At one stage I spent a dreadful amount on craft beers. Close to $30 AUD for a 750ml bottle of La Terrible. $8 for a single bottle of Duvel. Pretty rough.
