the monster ran away to hide in seclusion, before the townspeople found him and threw "missile like objects" (rocks) at him
though I might be thinking of the wrong scene. definitely need to re-read it soon since it's been like 5+ years

sadly Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is one of my favorite books.. so I had to jump on the print set right away despite the price.

Just did some wiki-ing on the author and work (I'm an utter noob at comics, a few really obvious Batman graphic novels and TPBs aside). Had no idea they were taken from a fully fledged adaptation of the novel, will be reading that soon enough. I immediately got the impression from the prints you posted that the artist had paid especially close attention to Shelley's writing. Victor and the creature's respective body language and the gulf around them in that illustrated confrontation is letter perfect*, as is the latter's unnerving mesh of classical beauty and grave rot in the last. *("Die, monster! You don't belong in this world!" "Bitch pls.")

oh yeah, you can find the hardcover for like $30ish which released about 6 years ago. Stephen King and Wrightson both did the intro but they used the full novel written by Shelley. It's even a cool coffee table book since the illustrations are so detailed and badass :P

the craziest thing about the book is that he did it all for free:
"I've always had a thing for Frankenstein, and it was a labor of love. It was not an assignment, it was not a job. I would do the drawings in between paying gigs, when I had enough to be caught up with bills and groceries and what-not. I would take three days here, a week there, to work on the Frankenstein volume. It took about seven years"

Thanks SP, unfortunately no sound effects. That would have been really cool though.

I actually pre-ordered a second pair from that exact site too when they were announced. However I think there are delays with their distributor, so they haven't even received their units up to now.

Bunch of new empty paint cans and mixing containers so I can revive and transfer all my ultraviolet reactive paint 8)
Bought the stuff nearly 8 years ago and have produced about a dozen blacklight theater show since. Not even used half the stuff yet, which is fine by me since it costs about $150 per gallon!!!

Still got the cannondale? please let me know.

Found these 2 things for very cheap. Super happy about them!

For 3$ I couldn't resist. So many hours spent playing that game as a kid...

In the back of my mind, I had always wanted one, and it seems these are getting expensive. Again, at a cheap price, I couldn't resist. Came with the charger, too. Not a scratch on it.

Happy times ahead!

My last 2 games for the year. Famicom Batman and Famicom disk system Wardner No Mori. I'm a huge fan of the arcade version even if it is a little too easy. And going from the info online this version is made even easier by taking away the arcade 1-hit death and giving you an energy bar... Ah well.

What do you think of Wardner's MD port? I wish it didn't look so inexplicably ugly, but otherwise I'm quite fond of it. Haven't played the arcade one nearly enough to notice if anything's off though.

Heya BIL. The MD version as you're probably aware has more content that the arcade, with extra bosses and an extended final level. Personally though it doesn't feel as nice to play as the arcade version. For starters the jumping physics are different on the MD, it feel a lot more slippery and less weighty when trying to control directions in the air and falling off ledges. Another difference that really bugs me going from playing from arcade to MD is the firing angle of the stock fireball weapon. On the Arcade it falls pretty fast but on the MD it feels a very floaty and travels a bit further. It's not a bad thing I guess but after playing the arcade version it can defiantly throw off your flow. I personally prefer the arcade versions feel. And you also get the cool jumping sound effect on the arcade that is sadly missing from the MD version :)

Ta mosquito, exactly the detail I'd expect from you. ^__^ Shame about the engine deviations, I'd take a closer arcade conversion over extra content any day. Then again with the MD version having no input from Toaplan themselves I guess it's just fortunate it wasn't a total disaster (Visco handled everything, AFAIK). I wish they'd at least nailed the graphics though. I really like the arcade one's muted colour and odd chubby/creepy style, always strikes me as quasi-Western looking. I do think the music came across pretty well at least.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Filling up the FC collection, still a few games to go before I got all I could want. I already have a NES Bionic Commando, but BIL's reports about the JPN version made me want that too. I got it for only $66 from an eBay auction too, thanks to the seller listing it as "Hittler come to life again".

F-1 Sensation is one of the better and certainly lesser-known FC racing games from Konami of all people. And I have an odd fascination with Lode Runner games.

Incidentally, I now have a CIB NES Bionic Commando I don't need, so if anybody wants that, throw me a message.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Damn, great deal! Great game too, one of the most essential FC action titles for sure.

LOL

That's what I'll refer to it as from now on, I think. Along with every other ZOMG Hitler resurrection-havin' game. EDIT: crumbs, ninjad myself!
