Hi there SuperG, as many others I pre ordered the gscartsw_lite as soon as I noticed the announcement and I plan on ordering the gcompsw as soon as it is in stock. I would like as well to have combined shipping for these items, and to save the $35 for the second shipping.

I have read the thread and it seems that just by mentioning on the second order we make of any of these items that we want combined shipping should be enough for you to take care of it. But I was wondering if in the order page there´s an option to not have the shipping fee added to your cart when you pay with paypal. I´m asking since when I pre ordered the gscartsw lite, I don´t remember seeing this option of $0 shipping, just the domestic $20 and the international $35 ones.

When the gcompsw is on sale, would there be an option to not add the shipping cost to it if we want to wait and combine orders with the gscartsw lite? Or should we just go ahead and order with the shipping added and they maybe later receive back a refund for just the shipping fee on this second order?

Sorry for asking these menial details, I bet you are super busy with other more important things, but I just wanted to know if I would be paying more than $90 for the gcompsw when I place my order next week since I already paid for the pre order of the gscartsw lite with the $35 shipping fee.

I bought mine some time ago and finally found the time to connect it to the sony bvm.

But I dont get any picture out of it. few colors, but then no sync and just some black noise.

Both switches are turned left. (on). the green power led is on. i use the provided power supply.

Console is plugged into first slot. I tryed N64 and SuperGun with different boards.

When plugging into the second or third slot i dont get this first colors at all.


I dont really understand what i am missing or what i can try.

Try other consoles. What do you use as output, SCART or VGA->BNC connectors?
BVM wants composite sync so you have to put one of the switches to CV mode.

Your N64 is modded, do you have other consoles to try?

ok, so i am trying dreamcast, but the same

i only get an image from input 8 and it has no sync, same with dreamcast and n64.

Which cable do you use on Dreamcast?
Do your other consoles work on input 8? Looks like a detection issue.
Would you be able to visually inspect the board, maybe some components were detached?
Do you have Sega Mega Drive to try?

i used 3x glasses and led light. i csnt see anything exciting, dont know what to look for.

so my guess, gscartsw uses sync to switch port. its not reading my sync therefor its not changing the port and not forwarding the sync ... which parts are responsible for sync, i have a multimeter to check stuff ...

Yes, you're correct, the detection is sync-based. I don't think that multimeter will help much, it's likely I will need the unit back here to look into it. Everything is tested here twice before shipping, what could've happened is either it was damaged during shipping or something incompatible was connected which affected sync line.

OSSC has the same PSU but, same brand, same form, same plug ... but it is only 5V ... ossc does not work with 5V. Needs more ... like 9V which came with the board ...

So everything is working now. I ll lable my psu now.

Do you know the amperage ratings required by each of your devices? I was considering switching from multiple wall warts to a power brick with a barrel plug splitter. But I need reference on how much power is drawn.

Random question: Is there any reason that a gscartsw_lite or a gcompsw couldn't live on top of a PVM? Would things like the degaussing hurt the switchers at all?

Nothing should happen although I haven't tried to put it on my PVM and degauss it
