Man, I can quote too many of those episodes...apparently he'd had dementia for awhile, rest in peace.

Actor, Peter Vaughan.
The man could menace at will. His Mr. Paxton, in A Warning to the Curious (1972) is a favourite of mine.

Ah, bless. I can't claim to have known his wider work, but he had a number of sublimely affecting scenes as Maester Aemon in Game of Thrones.

Ah, Zsa Zsa was older than I thought she was (99). You could almost average her husbands to 1 per decade, on aggregate. It's always sad to see a member of that golden-age glitzy Hollywood tribe go. They'll always be the kings and queens of style!

It makes me wonder: who else could rack up that celebrity death toll with a few weeks to spare? That's a whole lot of time to do some real damage to peoples' nostalgia!

I'm glad Kirk Douglas managed to hit 100.

Zsa Zsa's health was garbage for a while now. She had really bad dementia.
As someone who had a parent with serious dementia, she is better off this way.

George Michael! The first one to actually get me this year (apart from HG Lewis though he was very old). Have been waiting the whole day for the queen to die and now this. A proper queer icon. RIP.

This year is bonkers. Hopefully Carrie Fisher gets over her heart attack.

The George Michael thing...I'm not British or queer, but his album "Faith" was SO huge when I was a kid. I listened to it to death.
So, I have some good memories of him.
What a drag.

Andy Bell... I saw an interview w/ him earlier in the year. He looked healthy.

As for George Michael... I hated Wake Me Up Before You Go Go but Careless Whisper I taped on the radio and listened to a lot. Then my mom forbid me from watching I Want Your Sex... and of course the scantily clad chicks got me worked up, so he was definitely a favorite. In more recent years he joined the list of musicians to cover Tim Buckley's Song to the Siren, and seemed to do it justice.

It's like 2016 found the Death Note and having fun wiping out personalities.

Still 5 days and half to 2017 btw, there's room for more...

Well, it was certainly his Last Christmas.
You do wonder what these people were on but 53 is no age to give it all up. Rock 'n' Roll life style and all that.

I agree: 2016 was a complete write-off.

Very upset about this one, although I expected 2016 was just saving her for later, because it's that kind of year. A whole generation of men will be in mourning today.

2016 took our fucking space princess, you can never replace that.

Or maybe i'm just rambling because . . . sadness.
